Being injured and what he went through last year with his dad. Unimaginable. Someone was cutting onions when he scored that TD last year
i aint gonna lie it got me cause i lost mind albe it two years before but when he scored the onions came foreal cause my old man woulda been watching it with me.

No im saying being compared to a guy moving the same as you who is AT LEAST 30+lbs heavier isn't a very big compliment. It's not that these big backs can't be successful. It's that saying well Jacobs was successful... but Jacobs was 6'4" 265lbs at his lowest and ran a 4.56 40 with a 37" vert. Like maybe you can say similar style or look, but one guy was doing it FAR bigger and probably more athletic still... Maybe THAT was having a big impact in him being as successful while having zero agility...
whats crazy is as beastly as brandon jacobs is/looked this is his son....lol

4.90 a carry as a freshman.

5.42 last year coming off an injury with virtually no off-season.

6.48 a carry this year.

By the way, Damien Martinez averaged 6.30 a carry last year. You know, the guy we didn’t think we could replace. So far, so good.

(The ceiling of this rushing attack will not be reached until Lyle comes back 100%, by the way. But Fletcher is running hard and breaks a **** ton of tackles)
Vs P4 teams last year - Martinez had 6.5 ypc & Fletcher 5.2 ypc.

Martinez has an extra gear Fletcher doesn't have, but that's ok.

If Fletcher averages 5.2+ the rest of the way we should be good with our OL, QB, WR's.

A 1k yd 5.5+ ypc season would be a win for us. That's above the 800-1k 5.2-5.4 ypc expectations I had for Fletcher.

He had a good game. Looks like bambi in the open field still though.

Still really don't like all the A gap runs. Against USF who we outclass it works sometimes - especially late. But other opponents.... We'll see. Luckily Beck has been consistently picking up whats easy AND pushing the ball down field. We need the explosive plays. If it's not going to be through the run game due to the complete inability to do anything but repeatedly spam A/B gap runs, then it's gotta come through the pass game like last season. So far it has. If it continues, I'm fine if Fletcher is picking up 5ypc...
Fletcher has this weird/funny thing where he loses control of his legs 10 yds past the Line of Scrimmage.

Consistent chunks vs big plays is the name of the game with Fletcher if our passing game is consistently making plays.
