Mark D'Onofrio

Thank God D'Onofrio didn't go to law school. Can you see the judge waiting for D'onofrio to start his cross-examination while he's got that mess going on.

Dorito was a heck of a LB back in his day. But he was known for running headfirst into brick walls, not solving quadratic equations, or even remembering where he put his keys.

Diaz actually understands his D, and isn't looking in a panic for formula book answers. When your DC is flailingly scrambling to find printed answers to what he sees on the field, the one thing you know is he doesn't really know what he's doing. Doesn't make him dumb for sure -- the other possibility is his defense is too complex and he doesn't have a good feel for it. But either way, he's not serving as an effective DC.

To be fair--and this is something I pointed out when he was here--that passive read-and-react 3-4 crap was, I believe, Golden's defense, not Dorino's. He learned it from Al Groh, I think. Groh brought it from the Giants, probably. Before that, Dorito coached under Schiano and Schiano was more of a pressure defense 4-3 guy. Schiano coached under Butch and Butch wouldn't have it any other way. I don't know what Dorino is doing at Houston--he's probably stuck with the 3-4 since that's what he did last. It wouldn't surprise me if you were right and Dorinto was coaching a defense he didn't know that well.

During interviews, Golden used to work big words, like "conflate," that had no real place in Power 5 bigtime football. He complicated stuff that needed to stay simple. He probably did that in his scheme, too.

That said, Dorino reminds me of an Italian friend I used to have who played baseball at PSU about the same time Dorino played football. Dorino probably missed his calling and should have signed up to become a CPA like my friend, instead of continuing on in football.

Football has not been so kind to Mr. Dorino in recent years. Business graduate school looking better and better.

When's the last time Diaz even played--HS? He didn't play at FSU, did he? Too skinny and small. Meanwhile, Dorino was running into brick walls and getting concussed time and again. No wonder he's flailing with that complicated mess that's probably adorned with all kinds of clips and attachments they bought at Staples. Different color inks, probably highlights, God knows what else. I'd be confused too frantically trying to sort through all that stuff.

You don't see Diaz walking around with that crap, do you? He keeps it simple, just attack. Do you see how McIntosh gets into the backfield before the OL even gets up out of the stance? Unreal. Don't need all kinds of posters, displays, sheets and attachments to implement that. Can you imagine if McIntosh had to think his way through an assignment?

D'Onofrio didn't even understand the defense he was responsible for running, so there was ZERO chance he was going to have any luck teaching it to players and running it successfully - even if it was the best D on earth (which obviously it isn't). But tards like D'Onofrio are what you get when you make the Golden hire.

To be honest.....this was always my favorite.

what about the one with Michael Wyche lined up in a 3 point stance like 7 yards off the line of scrimmage?

someone has to have the gif of Wyche running a stunt, which was called in the first quarter but completed in the second quarter given the distance and time he had to travel.

Don’t know how to place the video in the message directly, but here is a funny gif of Wyche on a stunt that ALMOST gets home...LMAO!

You guys just don't understand the call. Wyche was going out to cover the offensive right tackle who was all alone and could have gone all the way, unimpeded, into the end zone....just in case it was a tackle eligible. Very heads-up play by Wyche.

Not a single indication that he actually did and yet all these posts ha

Not to mention he would never get the job what a random rumor

How good would Tyriq McCord be in this defense? Was actually surprised he didn't become a pass rush specialist in the league...

Tulane entered the game against Houston averaging 140 yards passing because they run a a spread triple option. Against No D, Tulane's QB had his best game of the year. 17-25, 251 yards and the game winning TD, a 64 yarder with 5 minutes left after Houston had taken the lead. Then, after Tulane stopped Tulane, Tulane ran out the last 330. Tulane had 417 total yards.
