Maybe his playbook is over complicated and he has to dumb everything down for the QBs on the roster.
Maybe I’m playing the devils advocate here but could it be possible that he recruited really “dumb” QBs and they just can’t grasp the game plan so he has to dumb it down to peewee league ball because of the QBs?
I don’t think that’s the really problem but just putting it up for discussion. Honestly I think most of our problems stem from recruiting mostly south FLA kids. They are no longer their elite of the nation, we need to expand

He had one top 20 offense in all of his time at georgia, with the cream of the crop georgia kids. gtfo, moron

The offense was questionable when we had Kaaya who is considered a pretty heady QB. Will say that it looked better under Kaaya considering his lack of mobility... that was basically the down fall in year 1.

don't claim to be an expert but its not that hard to understand. having a successful offense today has a simple objective.

with motion and formations make it as difficult as possible for a defense to play zone coverage and create mismatches for your skill players and train your QB to consistently look for and accurately deliver the ball there. give the defense too much to
do and to look at and put as much pressure as possible on the safeties.

it looks like for the top teams the running game has evolved to be used primarily to keep the DL honest and neutralize the pass rush and to pick up short yardage first downs.

a successful passing offense that can produce a bushel of points is king. don't ever look for Navy or Georgia Tech to be in the playoffs.

all I know is this - as just a fan - guys like Dan Orlovsky and Ahmed Brooks, who both played football at a high level, who have recently called UM games have basically questioned UM's whole offensive approach. I'd say those guys 'know football'(as our fearless leader, Mark Richt, would say)

To me, that's telling

I will play along. If wha t you are asking was true it is still on Richt to be able to coach/teach an offense the players he has can execute with SOME consistency. IDK about pro style or spread, I've has always believed in coaches who are multiple. That tells me they believe in players not plays. I will never believe in coaches that just coach a system, like a Mike Leach. Recruit the best players you can get and create a scheme/system the boys can execute and excel.

exactly right

BTw, Ive been saying from the very beginning UM should've been running more pure spread concepts from the beginning of the season. There are ways to mitigate a bad offensive line(which certainly is something UM has)

But again, if this offense could've just scored 28 points a game, they go 11-1. Think about that, not even 30 point, not asking to be Oklahoma - just 28. It isn't all THAT much - especially with this past schedule

I would almost bet that Kaaya would have thrived after a couple of seasons under Richt

@k9cane , I agree with you but, who will be TEACHING the QB's or players these concepts?? I feel These coaches don't know how implementing the teachings. my .02

That's the elephant in the room, any possible hire will be layered this this reality - an unqualified QB coach will be forced upon him. Again, that's the reality

Dont kill the messenger, lol

youre right on target k9 . one other thing, have you ever noticed how some teams have wider spacing between their offensive lineman ? thats something i have thought all year would help Miami's OL. their footwork is not the best in the world and most of the time they look like they are in each other's way.

yeah, about those modern day splits upfront. Leach has had that for years and it does seem like more teams are implementing that philosophy. But again, that's something modern day, not prehistoRicht

This guy says,"his playbook is over complicated"???? I know he's a troll, but... How can it be complicated with the 5 to 6 plays they have?!!!??!

I feel the QB's are either baffled of the 1 page playbook or Jon actually tells them fu ck studying that playbook and does shots with them and bang co-eds.
