Mario on Joe Rose: Hear a fake tough guy tell you to work hard

I’m not getting less ****ed as the days go by.

Things that drove me nuts on his interview and I didn’t even finish listening to it yet

First, he was asked about penalties right away, especially in the offensive line, and he went on to explain how they had cleaned it up for Stanford (which is all relative), but that they "regressed" this week and that it’s not the "standard."

The problem is that penalties under Mario are absolutely the standard - the statistics show it.

Then later on, when it was readdressed about how you coach it out, or make people lose playing time or whatever you do to bring it back in, he talked about how he leads a "disciplined" life and they are a "disciplined team."

I’m sorry, Mario - I get what your point is and what you believe, but the facts are your team is not disciplined, or we wouldn’t be having this ******* conversation again.

I dont listen to these, cause its glazing when you win and excuses when you lose. He doesn't care about penalties. I never see them even getting mad at players for committing them. Playing on the margins with a penalty ridden team.

Well I appreciate that joe rose at least asked a lot of questions. I would’ve liked to ask and he can’t ask a couple of questions that I would like to ask due to the nature of it.

And Mario answering certain questions the way he did is not helping him not lose the fan Base further

Caveman Idk GIF

Even old *** nick saban who won nattys old school way changed and brought dudes in like Lane, sark etc because that’s what he knew needed to be done to stay ahead

We have a coach who wants to still play like it’s 1995 … we have one Oline guy who will get drafted in the 1st round he runs into stacked boxes like he’s got 5 and can dominate either way.

SCHEME!!! Use your talent you’ve acquired to be put in positions to succeed. Beck isn’t cam and he can’t make miracles happen… we can all agree that was a bad portal pick up but we can still win with him if he’s not expected to be Superman

Idk how many post game interviews you guys have to watch before you get it through your head. This is Mario. It’s not fake. This isn’t some schtick. “Work hard and execute” is literally all he knows. He can’t hold a conversation about the game plan, or what went wrong, bc he doesn’t understand it.

It looks like Taylor has implemented a rule that if you jump offsides, you are coming out of the game. Against Stanford, 11 jumped offsides and immediately headed to the sideline to be replaced. Against SMU, he jumped offsides and did the same thing. The problem is SMU plays so fast that Taylor motioned to him to stay in the game because they would not be able to substitute in time. So at least he is smart enough to do something about it. My question is why is Mirabel not doing the same thing? Arguably we have more depth on the OL then the DL. He should be replacing the OL as soon as he makes a mistake. That is the only way you fix this at this point.

So the answer to this is another hard truth or made up lie the board ate up. We have a very good OL, but there are warts there that have come about because of recruiting misses. We dont have the depth along the OL to do that. ****, we are in year 4 and the left side of the line still has issues. Its why we need to go get a center every year in the portal.
