Mario now blaming the media

Maybe so, but they didn't lose to teams that they should've beaten.
richt literally lost to duke, boston college, and virginia in his third year, which underscores why all the hand wringing right now is so stupid. mario's gonna get his shot to build the team how he wants, and we'll see if he can get the ship right or not.

I was comparing his first year only.

A semi-retired Richt won 9 games in his first year, with less than 1/10th of the current resources. Just saying
That’s a slippery slope comparing both seasons. Go back and listen to Rosier talk about that team. They were simply tired of losing and came together as a team. Pretty sure that is not the case this year. We are also decimated by injuries.

I don’t have any sympathy for Mario this season but the media is trash and that’s always been the case
My sentiment exactly. The media only concerns themselves with a sound bite or fake breaking news to justify their existence whether it hurts somebody or not.

What is wrong with his answer? Asking him that question and other media speculation is what he’s referring to. There is a whole industry build on recruiting news, and much of it click bait.

We all know the local Miami media, and much nationally, love to trash the Canes. Do you think anyone in Alabama, Georgia, or Ohio would ask Saban, Smart, or Day that question?

What is wrong with the question??? Half of you posters on here wont even dare venture over to the Recruiting Board because your too afraid you will see that we lost a recruit. Its a legit question..We look horrible. This isnt a good product we are selling right now outside of "you will come in and play right away". Recruits jump ship all the time when they see a program not doing well. Its about a legit question as you can ask when you are realistically looking at not making a bowl game if you dont beat FSU in 2 weeks.

As is often the case in life, more than one thing can be true at once:

1. The team should be better than it is. Nobody should be anything short of disappointed and ****ed as to what has transpired. it's unacceptable, embarrassing, and should be giving even the staunchest supporters of Mario at least some pause.

AND

2. He's been the coach for 10 months, and 7 games. Nobody who is a fan of the program and wants to see it succeed should be toxic towards any part of it at this point. If he's losing to MTSU and Duke in Year 3, yep, fly the planes, call the guy racist names, go nuts. Do what you're doing now, essentially. But actually doing it now is ******* LUNACY.

Totally agree. Even though there is an obvious problem with our coaching staff —- I think a poster characterized the working relationship between the coaches and the players as “dysfunctional“ —- and even though Mario is definitely the proud owner of coaching Miami in its most humiliating loss ever (MTSU), we gotta give him a chance to prove himself. If in his third year we have not drastically, and I do mean drastically, improved, then the handwriting will be on the wall. If Mario is “the man” that can turn things around, then assuming we are still in the ACC, we should be playing for the ACC championship at the very least.
