These kids stopped believing in Mario when Mario stopped believing in THEM in the A&M game by completely playing pu$$y by coaching to not get blown out. The kids realized that A&M was TOTALLY beatable, but Mario wanted to drain the clock and keep it close with this style of offense to “save face”. He sent a STRONG message to the kids that despite all of his talk, when the rubber met the road- he didn’t believe his own rhetoric and waved the flag WITHOUT GIVING THESE KIDS THE CHANCE TO WIN BY PLAYING “PU$$Y BALL” WITH HIS STYLE OF OFFENSE.
These kids don’t suck, and they HAVE been working their asses off, but this offense is NOT THE RIGHT FIT FOR THEIR STYLE OF PLAY. And they know it. And they also know Mario will stick with demanding “execution” of his offense instead of just tweeking/simplifying the offense for them so they can play fast. Guys…we either have a stubborn, meat head of a coach or we have an arrogant, incompetent coach whose incapable of making adjustments, but will blame the kids for not executing his offense. Either way, we are TOTALLY fucced. And these kids have quit on him and his hypocritical slogans. FML…

We’ll see…….step one will be if TVD gets the start in two weeks. If that happens, I may check out for good this year.

There are a lot of issues that go beyond this position, but to me this decision will say a lot about how “stubborn” Mario and staff really are.

This is a fair point. Last week the NY Giants coach, Brian Daboll went for 2 to win the game instead of kicking the extra point and going to overtime. I remember reading an article about it and all the players were totally fired up that their coach was playing to win instead of typical conservative "play not to lose" bull****. Cristobal plays for field position and field goals and time of possession. What players are gonna get excited about that brand of football?

lmaoooooooo they realized they *** and played to the level of an *** football team. They been lost. Coaches just expediting the process

Mario has to adapt to the players and what works. This is gonna end up like Golden holding on to D’nofrio. Fall on your sword now before it’s too late and the whole teams packs it in for good.

Some kids, yes.

Why didn’t Thad get more than one carry at TAMU? He was productive in the first two games, albeit lesser opponent. Knighton was missing time dinged up, returns, and gets run up the middle. Thad was productive today, somewhat.

He’s the last man standing, too.

Although maybe Parrish will get enough rest in two weeks…

Dude…I was like…”wow”, Mario is playing some pu$$y style of football right now?!?! Take off the ******* shackles- THIS GAME IS RIGHT HERE FOR THE TAKING?!?!!!!! WTF ARE YOU DOING, MARIO?!?!!!! He played to not get embarrassed-not even “playing not to lose”, playing to not get blown out….and the ******* kicker?- A&M was literally handing us the game and Mario didn’t believe he could have it???? I knew at THAT moment- he lost these kids…and me

Not sure what everyone sees in Thad, Parrish is far and away our best all-purpose RB. For a "bruiser" Thad doesn't really seem to do a lot of bruising; I was pretty unimpressed by him today.

I agree Parrish is the best RB on the roster, but Thad adds a big-back dimension. Useful if our OL could get out of their own way.

We need a coach with a midwestern background - Arkansas/Oklahoma - there's been some really good coaches out of there - making do with less - and when they get somewhere like UM - they drool with the speed and skill sets they find already there.

I've had a bellyful of HC's who "know" the "right path," and it's always out in the weeds.

Why do they have to be so damned stubborn and have such a high opinion of their "CONCEPT?"

Just coach to play good, coach to make game days fun - and play to what you have availablel!

...this offense is NOT THE RIGHT FIT FOR THEIR STYLE OF PLAY. And they know it. ...
Which makes sense as Mario didn't recruit them, Manny did; for a different style of offense. Yes, Mario could try to fit those square pegs into the round hole, but it's not going to yield maximum results. That being said, our O' line handled TAMU's D' line to the tune of nearly 200 rushing yards. How the **** do they get pushed around by MTS the way they did today?? It makes no sense.

It doesn’t matter anymore. Look. He benches TVD then he immediately opens himself up to the criticism that he “wasted Herbert” and is now throwing away, what most pundits widely considered to be a future first round pick. Square peg, slow developing hole. We are officially fucced, gentlemen. He will continue to trot TVD out there until he “gets it”. How many games we lose if and until that happens?-who knows, but if TVD DOESN’T get it, he will continue to completely destroy his reputation and draft status and eventually be widely viewed as an “overrated bust” or a “system guy”. Once people are collectively **** ting on this kid and not the HC, THEN he will make the change to a kid who “wont worry about individual stats and status” and will be “all about the TEAM” and just execute the offense”? Manipulation 101. It’s how people keep fooling other people into giving them opportunities they, in most cases, don’t deserve? And we wonder why they do less with more…

They lost the game between the ears,..

Dave aranda won like 4 games his first year kicking field goals and punting in opponent territory. Then he evolved in one offseason. Got aggressive on offense. Would go for it. And lo and behold. They win the big12 and still play good defense. If Mario doesn’t evolve he will get run outta here just like manure

Again, we’ll find out soon enough……..I just know from my perspective that this will be the first massive strike on Mario if 9 starts in two weeks. I’m not about calling all doom and gloom this early and can’t stand those that proclaim ultimate failure a couple games into a tenure without giving the benefit of the doubt to adjust. This was an inexcusable loss but every school in the country at one point or another has pulled the same ****.

At the same time I personally won’t deal in the self preservation bull**** and it’s clear as can be that TVD is broken. Some of that is scheme, some of it is TVD being overrated. Mario will be 100% to blame if he keeps forcing him out there and it will certainly begin to highlight the points you bring up as an unfortunate norm.
