Mario joins Josh Pate on his Pate State Speaker Series

I agree.

I may have missed him saying it somewhere else, but for me, it was cathartic as **** to hear him say that it was painful as **** to have a generational offense with Cam while losing the defense as bad as we did.

I’m not sure any adjectives can ever possibly sum up how atrocious that defense was, but it was good to hear him freakin say it for some reason.
Well, despite Mario’s flaws (and every coach has flaws), I do believe that he loves this university as much as we do. Theres not another qualified head coach out there who wants Miami to win even half as much as Mario does. We are very lucky in that regard.

I probably have 5 thumbs down in the history of this site, this is one of those moments
Well good for you. The man is an excellent recruiter and that's it. He can't coach for ****. Overall he doesn't have a clue what's happening during the game, makes incredible dumb decisions, hires the wrong personnel, rarely develops players, and have been given more money plus resources than any other coach in UM history but still is a failure.

All coaches who are ceos in college and excellent recruiters are always the teams with a chance year in and year out to win national championships when they were at a program for a good while. Lane knows when to call timeouts knows how to draw plays and hasn’t beat the teams with coaches that just recruit well. When he meets a stacked roster with a HC that “can’t coach for ****” he gets blown out. Why?

Because of the roster

Perhaps a touch much?

Which ultimately falls on Mario! He claims all the time about adding talent and roster management. I love the dude think he gets us where were trying to be but the situation were talking about and Gattis. Its like he hasnt cared about the little things his ultimate goal is we will know and he will know when the team is right cause they will dominate there way through any situation an no one will be able to stop it. And i get the big picture but u gotta fight for your team in those situations! Just My opinion
Agreed but Mario had 2 strikes against him.
1.........Injuries on D
2........Lacking competent depth, and no talent to step in and maintain game quality.
and the third and possible out in the lost games, and that was a D Coach that did not have............ or had no idea of defensive adjustment to make up for his deficiencies............
that is the Nut right there.

Guidrys defense worked from a set perspective. It incorporated matching and giving away routes to others, which comes down to communicating.

From what I saw through the whole season, the defense lacked general awareness, communicating ability and willingness to tackle. Horizontal movement in the offense ****ed us up both pre-snap and after. It was evident players weren't prepared for it during the entirety of preseason and it was never fixed during.

When the coach is over his head, he's losing his players and when he is losing his players, the ship sinks. Players weren't playing correct roles, calls were made that were plain stupid and players did stuff that nobody on here understood, because it made no sense from a coaching nor technical standpoint.

You can only hope for better, at least 7 is out. Had no business playing here for one single snap. Didn't communicate, didn't bother.
