Mario getting schooled by Sumlin

But some how the wario warriors are convinced he would make an excellent HC at Miami.
Not leaning one way or the other, but just food for thought: remember Bellyache at Cleveland? His record was 36-44. Only one winning season. Look at him now. Sometimes it is more that coaching, the right support system makes a big difference. Same with Saban’s support system. Perhaps we need more than a coaching change.

Really, Belichick? Bill led one of greatest defenses in the NFL in the Parcells Giants. What has Mario done even remotely close to that?

Belichick and Carroll are the exceptions that everyone tries to use when talking about fired retread's. They are EXCEPTIONS bc they were at one point EXCEPTIONAL in one phase of the game.

No argument here. Like I said, not leaning one way or the other, just stating what happened, and the likelihood of it happening in the future, with any program, any coach, with any track record.

Mario will do well out there my cousin is the Oline coach at Oregon i really want them to win. Now Mario as our HC? Never going to happen.

Jimmy Johnson,

29–25–3 at OS. 17-15–3 conference.

52-9 at the U.

Disclosure: Mario’s dressing room door is not my hangout.

Mario's qualifications according to our loser fanbase

1. He played or coached at Miami
2. He understands Miami
3. He is cuban

That is all you need for this fanbase to think you are a good coach.

Bonus: if he had success 20 years ago on VHS, he should get a lifetime contract

Jimmy wasn't a retread. NEVER fired and wasn't playing in CUSA when he was leading Ok. State. That was the conferences hay day.
Didn’t say he was, just exposing the contrast in records. We can nitpick this all day, I’m just trying to say it is more than just coaching. We already know the BoTs screwed up on the last few hires, the AD likes to put things on autopilot, two contract extensions without any tangible justifications (money must be in abundance, huh?), we now have two coaches in succession with stubbornness as a trait. Everyone in charge needs to do better. We need shrewd businesspeople on the BoTs and as AD (a la Sam Jankovich).

Nicks had a couple too, albeit just a couple.

Nick's had a couple for a head coaching career that has spanned about 20+ years. He's also got 6 national titles to his name. This is why I mention Nick Saban as the outlier.

But Mario has a potential NFL 1st round pick in a conference that's devoid of defense, yet got blown up by a mediocre (at best) Arizona team. This is why he doesn't move the bar for more.

Well.. every coach has bad losses. In my mind, it’s not that one of those losses signals a problem.... it’s when those type of losses become a trend.

We’ve had 2 staffs in a row that regularly lose to lesser talent. They’re just out coached.

Outside of alabama thats college football now. Ohio state purdue. Clemson syracuse last year. We have the worst QB in college football. Until we fix that not going anywhere

Herbert looked worse than Rosier last night... if that's possible. Everybody was dropping passes too. We could have beat'em.

While I understand what you are saying about needing a good support system, drawing parallels between possibly the best football coach of all time and Mario Cristobal is insane lol. Cristobal wouldn't even be allowed on Bill's staff as a quality control assistant. Bill was a two-time SB champion defensive coordinator before he even got a head coaching job. Bill was also somehow able to help the Cleveland Browns win 11 regular season games and a playoff game. Those 11 regular season wins are still the most wins the Browns have had in a season since 1989. Not to mention, that same year the Browns statistically had one of the best defenses in the league.
