Mario defenders - Let’s hears those excuses

This is just typical of the time we live in. JJ' s head would've been called for by every 'couch-coach' for the epic collapse against Maryland, Hail Flutie, and another defensive nightmare against UCLA to finish the '84 season. Should've just cut ties after his first season! Lol.

Explain what? These types of humiliating losses by P-5's are fairly common AND teams in transition years are particularly vulnerable. Not to say yesterday's ***-kicking wasn't disappointing or even alarming. Ultimately though, we're all going to have to just put away the microscopes and see how this plays out - over time, that is.

This mentality is garbage and I suspect you are one of these new-school Miami fans.

There is no situation, ever, where losing a game like this is at all acceptable.

Couldn’t agree more. After 18 years of rotten culture, mediocrity, and bad recruiting evals, this was never going to be a quick turnaround. Go back to Jimmy and Butch, and you’ll see moments that looked exactly like this one.

How Mario works out is TBD. But we’re in week five of year 1. Imho, we’re at least 2 years away from being a consistent 9-win team, and 3-4 years from being nationally relevant. Even the greatest coaches had transition years (Bama 7-5 in 07’; Dabo 15-12 his first two seasons; Luke Fickell 4-8 his first season). It’s not gonna be easy. Also dumb to say we’re doomed. Theres a pretty clear record of good coaches having growing pains and making a jump after.

I agree with transition years with staffs, but Mario better realize his mistakes quickly if he wants to be different than the previous coaching staffs here. His offensive philosophy stinks, Gattis was a terrible hire, etc. He better not be to stubborn to correct these mistakes quickly.

Saban changed up his offensive philosophy, Dabo fired Steele and did some other things, I’m not too sure about Fickell. I want Mario to succeed, but he needs to evolve offensively quickly.

He’s in an environment where he’ll have to. If this offense doesn’t take a step, he’s going to get rid of Gattis. Imho, no coaching staff gets it right on the first go around. Takes time to 1) stack talent and 2) get the right staff in place. It’s trial and error from ****.

pull up your post following FIU in year 1. if you said the same thing, then its fine. you more optimistic. if you tore out Manny for losing to a **** team in year 1 then do the same here. dude can't coach and its been obvious his entire tenure and through 4 games here
