Yes. This season was frustrating and there is legitimate room for criticism. But in the grand scheme of resurrecting the program, the season was virtually meaningless.

Things like bringing in Alonzo, organizational improvements, the football facility, and making a big dent in turning the roster were imperative to set the program back on the right course. I don’t think there’s a single realistic candidate for the job that could’ve accomplished what Mario did in those areas. And it’s an easy decision to trade 2-3 additional wins in year 1 for that type of progress, particularly given that Mario quickly addressed issues with the staff.

There were a lot of questions about this hire, are you knew?

The program is spending money on better coaching, that is the takeaway. I never saw anyone say Mario is a stellar coach. He is a stellar recruiter and motivator that needs great coaching around him. Is that what we are getting now? We will see, but take away the investment, and if he doesn’t get it done, I think we spend again…I don’t believe this goes backwards.

Coker, Shannon, Golden, Manny…we can do all of that again I guess, but just for ***** and giggles, let’s see where this goes.

Difference between Manny and Mario is that under Mario we will actually have the athletes to do it correctly

No more OL that sucks, no more converted S playing LB, or LBs playing DE

Mario has recruited the trenches extremely well thus far, maybe minus a stud DT
