Mario and Jason Taylor...

At least he asks for help and gets the right call in. I think he’s a coRch at heart but he tries to do better and so I give him credit for that and for having the sense to know his limitations and do better anyway it takes.
I don't disagree. But the fact of the matter is that our HC has to ask for help in that situation.

Well yeah, he’s a corch but he’s a good corch unlike Billy Napier who kept trying to do something he’s not good at - refusing to hire an OC. So I give him credit. It’s ok. He is what he is and he isn’t going anywhere. At least he is reasonable and overcomes his deficiencies.

Many make statements as if they’ve been in the meeting rooms and on the field when in reality they don’t know their *** from a hole in the ground.

Slow down with Mario, old man. Yesterday, when it was 4th down (after a Bain sack), and a penalty was on A&M for illegal hands to the face, our HC didn't know what to do. He had to ask for help from Hetherman who clearly told him to decline the penalty to keep it at 4th and 9, and force A&M to punt. Mario, almost......almost.....accepted that penalty.
what a dumb take. smart coaches talk. sorry, better to double check somone you respect then **** up- even the announcers debated it if i recall

yeah, my take about Mario may be dumb, but no, immediately McDonough (play by play) said that Miami should decline, and then after the penalty was declined, both announcers said it was a good call since A&M would not go for it where on the field with the down and distance. If Sean McDonough a play by play guy and Greg McElroy both immediately say the penalty should be declined, the HC of a college football team should know that. He has to know that, imo.

And to follow up, I don't mind if a HC has to get clarification of where exactly is the ball spotted, where will the ball be spotted if they accept the penalty, what is the down and distance IF they accept the penalty, I get all of that. Anyway, I digress.

I saw that. Actually, I liked it that he consulted with Hetherman cause it’s his players that get impacted by the call. I would like to see Dawson consulted as well, if the call impacts the O. It’s just common sense to me.

Actually, going back over the tape, I think Mario consulted Hetherman because he (Hetherman) sets the punt team. That is what Mario could have been telling Hetherman, and then Hetherman asking Mario if he wants something like a safe return or go for an all out block.

Bingo

Mario knows his limitations in Trumpycanes eyes

Trumpycane does think it’s hilarious though Napier said he won’t be calling plays at James Madison

Gayturds must be ****ED

I’m good with it. We hired a program/talent builder. I am thrilled that rather than more GT goofs, he defers to people who are better at that than he is. It’s him maximizing chances for success. I can’t applaud Mario enough for this.

Few years back I stood on Aquinas sidelines due by their state championship game vs Edgewater. Stood right outside the box. I was curious if JT was the DC in name only, a guy who helped them get kids or could he actually coach HS kids. I came away impressed. He wasn't just a figurehead, he knew what he was doing. Others may disagree, just my opinion from standing down there. I'm a side note, got to see Joy Taylor on the field after as her nephews were both playing.

Can Jason Taylor become our version of Brian Hartline, but for DEs?

With Bain going top 10 and Messidor possibly going on day 1 (from maybe 3rd or 4th round last year?) and now Wilson..if Wilson goes 1st round next year, does JT become our "come to Miami and become a 1st rounder" guarantee at DE?

With Mirabel and Mario for OL, and JT for DL, how great would that be if we had that kind of clout/reputation on BOTH lines?! Having that advantage on both LOS opens up so much more than just having it at WR. It attracts every other position. You can sustain success for a long time with that kind of advantage.

You know it’s just a matter of time before Coordinator/HC jobs start being offered to Taylor. Hopefully, we can hold on to him as long as possible.

Does he aspire to become a college HC? Or is he content as one of the highest paid DCs in America with as easy of a job as you can get (maybe his next step once Heatherman leaves?) Easy to recruit DEs to Miami..easy to coach 5* DEs. Self sustaining success without all the headaches of a head coach.
