I haven't been critical as I've been questioning Mario's decision making and if a star player like Jason can effectively coach. The questioning is answered, both are up to the task at hand. Mario has learned from mistakes and DOES NOT REPEAT THEM. Jason's DL is incredible, they are cohesive, supportive and play their positions perfectly. Rarely do they leave openings, the past 3 games have been flawless and spectacular. It sure has been fun, hopefully continues and should since OSU is over rated and no other team can compete with our well rounded, solid team.

I'm glad you're on this ride with us. It wouldn't be the same without you, Great one.

Taylor is the most important non-coordinator on staff. The DL are physical monsters, no doubt, but they play with great technique and they rush with a plan. They are clearly being developed well. Kids seem to respect him and like playing for him.

I don't know what his ambitions are, but I'd expect opportunities to come calling. Selfishly, I hope he just wants to stay in SoFla as a lifestyle and isn't interested in living in East Lansing or somewhere just to be a DC.

Their coming after this staff and Taylor might be the hardest one to hold onto. He obviously isn't getting our DC job. Can we find another title to add to his resume for some more money? Let's hope the draw to stay home wins out one more year. He is going to have to let home go if he wants to advance in this profession. I just want one more class of him recruiting with this playoff run with Bain and Mesi going into this draft. I have no idea where Blay falls in. I just really want to see this with all handcuffs completely off. This should look like some Hartline position class for the DL in 27.

I think he would be named DC the day after Hetherman becomes a HC. When you have a successful foundation think it's a good thing to hire from within when the coordinator gets promoted.

maybe he is the DC after Heatherman leaves if Heatherman leaves, which I would not expect to occur in 2026

Slow down with Mario, old man. Yesterday, when it was 4th down (after a Bain sack), and a penalty was on A&M for illegal hands to the face, our HC didn't know what to do. He had to ask for help from Hetherman who clearly told him to decline the penalty to keep it at 4th and 9, and force A&M to punt. Mario, almost......almost.....accepted that penalty.

I don’t think he’s leaving. The reason I say it is he’s a legend down here and he bought a house in the Gables after selling that house he had forever in plantation. I think he wants to stay here and if Heatherman is here another year I don’t know that he doesn’t get the DC job.

I totally agree. D Lewis deserves a ton of credit as well
Scott and Moten have been revelations since the middle of the season. I mean PFF graded Scott over Bain. I take PFF with a grain of salt, but nonetheless, he’s made his presence felt. Which we’ve had a near 100% miss rate on highly recruited DTs for a hot *** minute. Huge difference in the development from those guys to previous coaches.
