Manny doesnt have time to lose games while complaining about one position group. He knows that
Too bad you didn’t give Richt the same standards.

Maybe I misread your post, there's been a lot of noise since the game ended. No one is saying it's acceptable. No one is saying freshman tackles weren't a huge problem. No one is saying it's acceptable because they're freshman. Just check my posts. But it appears that a lot of people are looking for someone to blame to make them feel better.Of course they not getting 10 sacks against another team, that's the point. They shouldn't have gotten them against us is what I'm saying. It's unacceptable. Not saying it can't be fixed, although I don't think the oline can be fixed. They can do a better job of accounting for the youth and inexperience. They didn't. You can't say "well they are freshmen going against seniors and they will be great in two years". They gone be freshmen against UNC and the rest of the ACC. A lot of people, including myself, thought the freshmen tackles could be a huge problem but a lot of us trusted the coaches would come up with something. What happened was they gave up an astronomical amount of sacks. I just believe that part of the game was unacceptable and coaches should have took more responsibility for that.
There is no quick fix or magic genie to advance the clock. U kinda slow? This quote actually scares the **** out of me. Ensure yourself the best possible line now, not in 2022.
Yep. One step at a time. Fixing OL will require older and more experienced oline. That happens next year or possibly end of this yearThe Oline issue can't be fixed.... I feel you can't get bigger/stronger during the season. So if this is the best we have so be it. We can however call better plays, teach the QB to get rid of the ball, and call different formations to give the tackles help. It is now up to Enos.
Richt took over a program in the gutter. Manny took over a program a year removed from a 15 game winning streak that he has already coached at for three years
Zion was shell shocked and after the penalty I could tell he was trying to not mess up. Then in turn it cost him getting beat on several plays. The thing is i really didn't see the tackles just get manhandled. Maybe i missed it. From what i saw they were getting beat off the snap consistently. Before they even got out their stance uf DEs was running around them.
You are not following my conversation with another poster. I said I'm sure the problems can be corrected. I'm also saying Manny giving the freshmen excuse doesn't do anything because they are going to be freshmen next game. I'm talking about him not taking responsibility during the press conference or his interview. They went up against our defense everyday so they should have known the limitations of the tackles. No one game plans to allow there freshmen tackles to get abused so obviously whatever the plan was it wasn't a good one and there wasn't any adjustments during the game. This is why I said I wish he would have just said "it's unacceptable and we will get it cleaned up" instead of they are freshmen. But again, that's my preference as a fan. I'm no coach, I just try to trust the coaches. But if the coach responds to his poor tackle play with "they are freshmen", I must assume this is what I have to look forward to for the rest of the season.Maybe I misread your post, there's been a lot of noise since the game ended. Do you really think that after reviewing the game tape, the staff doesn't see things that they would have done differently and would like a do over? Do you expect them to air dirty laundry in the public to appease the masses? I just watched Enos's interview and he matter of factly went threw problems and errors and people are screaming he throwing Jarren under the bus. How they handle this may make the difference between losing the team or rebounding against UNC.
This has been recognized on this board back in 2016 when Kayaa had line issues and 2017 when we had no one in the pipeline. Those who brought it up were attached as "chicken littles", as overreacting. "We have plenty of time, we don't want projects, we want plug n play", was the mantra. Now it's come home to roost. Since we're unwilling/unable to pony up $300K for plug n play we're left with developmental. Without a competent development staff and no one in the pipeline to develop. There is no quick fix or magic genie to advance the clock.
The only thing is to see how the staff adjust to throw them a life line to but us time so they can develop.
End of rant.
I was commenting on the two bolded. I just re-listened to Manny's interview. He didn't excuse the performance because they were freshman. He just stated the fact that they were freshman, you can expect some freshman mistakes but "we have to get better and it's not all on the freshman". That clearly implied they will clean it up. He went on to state that why they come to Miami was to play in big time games and the standard required to compete in them and his expectation to be successful in that setting. That a clear statement of the standard he expects for the program. He may not have used the exact words you wanted to hear but he addressed your core concern. You are not following my conversation with another poster. I said I'm sure the problems can be corrected. First game for the kid .I thought he did **** good considering the duress he was under all game.kid will learn some things you can't learn at practise.it takes game burn.At least half the sacks were on Jarren. Maybe 6 out of the 10 IMO. Classic point was the first sack in the redzone. He knew it was man with a blitz coming from somewhere. He went to throw it, double pumped, and took the sack. Have to let it go the first time. I think he thought to himself that he would rather take the sack than risk a possible turnover. Not the best, but hopefully he can start to throw the ball away. 2nd & 10 is much better than 2nd & 18
Actually I’m far from worked up. Just stating my opinion. I like my coach I just don’t think they did a good job in a couple areas. He said too many times for my liking that they’re freshman and uf def ends are really good. I feel a lot better after hearing Enos interview.I was commenting on the two bolded. I think you're getting worked up over semantics.
Fair enough. I just don't think he saying it to excuse it. I think he's saying it to temper expectations. I don't believe thy expected 10 sacks but if the staff expected freshman bumps, they didn't consistently do enough to help them out. We need to see their adjustments.Actually I’m far from worked up. Tell us how they’re coaching the OL today. Give some specifics.
