Manny's departure HELPS THE PROGRAM

No. Al Golden obviously recruited well on defense. He just had them playing the wrong scheme. Manny gets credit for the change in style of play. What I’m saying is we didn’t get to see if Mannybaould have kept dominating. He hasn’t really even signed a LB since his first class which was all Al Golden’s kids. Nesta is the only DT we got for real since Diaz has been here. So what I’m saying is the verdict is still out if he would have been able to keep putting up these results long term because his recruiting has been very suspect. We will be fine in defense because Richt has always had pretty **** good defenses in his career cause he know he wants an aggressive style and will hire someone who fits that.

I don't think you're completely wrong, but saying al "obviously" recruited well on defense is a bit of revisionist history. I'm sure you remember "can he play DT?" I'll agree that the coming years would have told us more about Manny's abilities, but I think you're overestimating the degree to which al recruited well and underestimating the degree to which Manny got a lot out of good-not-great HS recruits. And it's worth noting that coaches don't tend to stay around as long as they used to, so we're going to have to judge everybody on a few years or not at all.

Just my opinion.

First, excellent, well written and thought out post. I agree in every aspect. Will force Mork Rich to earn his cash if he doesn't want his seat nuclear. Manny D isn't gonna be here to save him.

Secondly.....

CANEDOG. You are a sorry person, if you're a real offseason. When someone makes a truthful statement and/or post, your cornball **** comes along and downvotes. And you never post. Seriously, go buy you a pocket ******. Or Phallus. Whatever floats your boat. You and dawgcane. I swear y'all the same person. Y'all outta pocket.
