Simmer down. Hear me out. As you know, my name is Sonny Long. I was banned for speaking the truth about Mark Richt from day one. 99.8% of you now agree with my earlier sentiments. Why is this a good move for our program? It puts major pressure on Mark Richt to upgrade the staff. Manny is not there to save him anymore. I never thought Manny was a great defensive coordinator. However, I must admit that Manny saved us from a 7+ loss season.

The way I see it, Temple is serving as our farm system. Manny is going there to cut his teeth as a head coach. When he is ready, we pull him up to the big leagues to replace the fired Mark Richt. Win win....

Sonny, you actually make sense here. Richt is now fully operating without a safety net from here on out. There's nothing left to bail him out
 
The only way this helps Miami is if Diaz takes Searels and little Richt with him.

Something like this. I think having 3 new coaching spots to fill is a good thing for the staff, overall. Kevin Patrick, Winston Moss, Michael Barrow; there are former canes out there that can get this defense to play as well if not better than before. I'm very happy for Manny but, the style of play has been established and this change can hopefully balance the deficits on special teams and offense as well. The talent is in Miami, and as long as our coaches can recruit we're gonna be fine.

Richt has an opportunity to really reassess the distribution of coaches in a way he wouldn't have if everyone stayed. He could probably hire any two of the above named coaches and still have that 10th spot for the 3 coaches we're likely to lose.

I mean let’s speak some truth here: the defense was great because of the front four, JJ, and MJ being a lock down corner. The defense wasn’t great because of Manny Diaz. In fact the weakest part of our defense is the position that Diaz coaches, the LBs.

LoL, are you insane, coach richt knows how to stand on his own 2 feet, it was he who gave manny the opportunity, he's been a headcoach for awhile, manny didnt make coach richt and wont break em. Coach richt will find somebody else if need be.
