Manny's Compensation was $9.5 million in the year ending 5/31/2020 (had to come back for this one)

I know this is 100% legit , I did the research and the math. It jumps to 25 million after the ‘21 season. And people say we don’t pay for coaches.

Only Miami would buy out a first-time head corch who's been at his respective school for all of a week. I don't want to hear another word from these excuse making assclowns about how broke they are when they **** millions of dollars down the drain like that.
My theory is that Richt knew he was most likely going to resign. He knew Manny probably wanted the job. He waited until Manny took job & did pres conference knowing he wasn’t the best option and then resigned hoping a very good candidate was chosen as successor.

Blake said, naw dawg. Gonna go get Mandy! I got this!!!

Honestly, I wouldn't be surprised if this is exactly how it went down lol.

Yes this has to include the buy out. But how exactly did we pay him 9.5 million in the 12 month period ending 5/31/2020.

There was probably an up-front amount of the Y1 comp that gets paid right away.

Imagine if you hired a coach from a tiny town, and then you didn't give him a dime for a couple of weeks, until the "first paycheck". I'm sure that standard operating procedure is to front a few million of the salary so that the coach can move, buy a house, etc.

Thank u my friend; hence in my thread, i said we deserve better than his $16.5m pay in 3 yrs have given us. Ppl were like the math don’t add up b/c we paid Temple $4 & he’s making $3.1m season. Thank u for uncovering, in print, what we paid in total that 2019 - 2020 season.

The temple buyout goes to manny who then pays temple. We do pay manny 3.1 which isn’t gonna get you an elite coach

Want the real kick in the junk? We had to pay a 21% tax on his compensation above $1m that is not factored into that number. So tack on another $1.8m or so.

A very good, and frequently overlooked, point.

Upon review, I do think it was the $4M buyout. Miami may CHOOSE to pay that off, but the mechanics are "payment to Manny, followed by Manny buying himself out of his Temple contract".

Which kinda sucks (for Manny), as he doesn't get a personal deduction for that on his 1040.
