Manny Wins the Offseason (again) - Can He Finally Win Games?

Here we go, back to buying into the team.

For all the negative things there are to say, gotta give it to Manny. He realized his biggest mistake (hiring Enos) and immediately fired him and fixed year 1 holes.

- Placekicker: Landed a top Veteran FBS transfer

- OL: hired a highly regarded OL coach who has HC experience himself

- OC: fired stubborn non-innovative Dan Enos who was a huge mistake and landed one of the most sought after SPREAD OCs in the country

- QB: landed the most dynamic results proven QB transfer

With a weak schedule again next year, there will be no more excuses to not win 10 games and the coastal..

But can he do it?

I'll be happy with 9 total wins.

Anymore than 1 loss in regular season and he should be fired.

I’ll give him random slip up next year. And a loss to Clemson in ACCCG. Nothing else should save his job.

The O Lashlee runs takes pressure off the OL. Also, a QB like King will make a line look good.
Like I said before..66 made Getting beat in under 2 seconds a game to game routine..a scheme will help but not fix..guys need to get better

They will get better. They will LOOK even better, due to the O. Last year was brutal, but the O we were running, and the QB play, made them look even worse than they were. A better system, and QB play, will make them look better.

One thing that bothered me about playing in a phone booth, it allowed the D do disguise any and every blitz. Good luck doing that with the field spread.

Winning games starts with winning all the off field intangibles. So at least it’s a great start.

He never deserved a first chance, let alone a second chance. Last thing we need is a repeat of the fool's gold in 2017. He needs to win 11+ and convincingly against this schedule that's even more pathetic. Not close, lucky games. Anything less than that, add that to the list of why he's not the guy and why he should have been dumped faster. It will be very telling for the ACC championship (if that) and the Bama opener in 2021.

No matter what happens, Blake James does not deserve to keep his job. Even if Manny wins a national championship, he needs to be fired. There's no debating that.

Who is a perfect screen name for you, WHO the F are you?

No, suckers and the easily conned are buying back in. Until I see on field results, I'm where I was midway through the season. Diaz remains a BS artist that lacks the ability to manufacture a consistent product, because he himself isn't consistent. Real coaches aren't running around screaming about turnover chains and touchdown rings. Real coaches would have completely stripped this staff down following the regular season finale, and started making wholesale changes. Diaz didn't.
Just so you know up front I am NOT inviting you to the Christmas party

Wins and losses will come down to one thing, the OL. Hopefully they can keep our QB upright and block for our backs. Playcalling should help, but they need to get it together.

Fix that and the Coastal should be ours if the changes are as good as they seem on paper.

Im with you, i dont get hype over transfer and commits i get amped up off of actual games played, off season is all talk and fluff. Ok, King came in, i dont care about what practice reports come out, or what players are saying about any other players, cause hardly any of them knows what elite looks like, although some of them did have a glimpse of it with Ahmon and brevin. Can this guy beat out perry, Matocha or dvd, i could careless about his prior stats, how he plays against Fsu is what i want to see, ***** stats, does he have heart.

Ill give coach diaz credit, he's not with having a lazy football environment, bringing in guys is definitely raising the competition level up a few notches, and will also force the True quitters to quit.

What i dont agree with is you saying "real coaches would've stripped tnis staff down" that's not True of the successful ones, they may get rid of a guy here and their, but when you are the guy that hired all the guys or allowed them to stay on in the 1st place, if you go round stripping the staff down, that's always an indictment that the headman dont know WTF he's doing, so real headcoaches dont have to resort to that many changes, plus when facts prove that the previous coach won at a high level with some of the same coaches, manny would look foolish and irrational making certain moves!

But he's headed in the right direction, his biggest adjustment is going to have to be, does he understand how to take charge in game when things arent going right, and can he redirect this new oc on what he wants in game at certain moments, he obviously didnt or couldnt do that with enos already, having jw15 doing 5 & 7 step drops damyum near all gaytor game fell on both manny and enos already!

Im looking for the defense to be improved, if the d-line plays better this year than last year, and our secondary is healthy, we should be ok on the defensive side of the ball. I still think having that striker position is hurting the defense, while it has its benefits, this defense still needs to play with 3 linebackers, seeing romeo finley getting worn down was not a good look. Just have frierson put on about 10 more lbs, and we straight, he needs to think about playing linebacker in order to get drafted.

You had me hook, line, & sinker until the last paragraph

I can say the same for you.

Diaz does not deserve the benefit of the doubt. He won the offseason last year, everyone kept saying just win. What did he do? He did everything but that. I am not getting sucked in over offseason hype again. Real coaches are leaders. What I've seen from him is not leadership. Even in the offseason this year, he was throwing players under the bus.

I don't think people really realize how close we were to winning 8 - 10 games last year. A bad coach would be lucky to win 3 games with the sh*t that went on last year. No leadership on offense from the most critical positions killed us.
Dude. Look at that **** schedule. A bad coach would win 6-7 games last year.

You’re right. And the same should’ve been the standard last season.
