******* disgrace.
Not saying you aren’t correct but don’t see what firing him now versus in two weeks accomplishes
Then why hasn’t the AD been fired?
They only have Mario in mind, when he will say “No, thanks” we will be f*cked (again). If we wait long enough they can claim they had no good options so either stay the same or go bargain bin shopping. Typical UM
Any of those coaches are going to want to know who the AD is. Hopefully....., they're working on the next AD right now....at least that's what I'd be doing.I would like for Diaz to be fired today, tomorrow or the day after.
But in terms of hiring the next coach, it does not matter if Diaz is fired now or at the end of the regular season. Assuming that we are trying to hire Mario, Lane, Stoops, or any other P5 coach, that coach can not interview or do anything until their season is over. So we are not falling behind in terms of hiring a new coach by waiting to fire Manny. Mario, Lane and Stoops could care less when manny is fired.
I will leave it to others to debate whether keeping/firing Manny makes a difference for recruiting, but that should be the discussion.
Absolutely correct. You and I may get murdered on this site for taking such reasonable positions.Any of those coaches are going to want to know who the AD is. Hopefully....., they're working on the next AD right now....at least that's what I'd be doing.
Good point. Who exactly is a lame duck AD supposed to fire? Hoping for something more definitive after this 11/18 meeting the BOT is allegedly having. Maybe the university will issue some official statement afterwards.I really think is more because of the AD situation. Honestly firing Manny today or December 1st doesn’t change much if Mario is the goal. He’s not going to interview until the regular season over anyway. Plus it’s hard to fire the HC if your AD isn’t gonna be here either.
Things change. That article was written before we lost to FSU. Now here we sit at 5 - 5. FWIW I didn’t expect him to be fired today, or even this week but people are ****ed, and rightly so. I’m pinning my hopes to the possibility that they are just waiting to fire Blake James first because they don’t want him to be involved in the next hiring decision. Not sure why y’all surprised, The Athletic reported a few weeks ago he would finish through the season.
