Manny has got to close on some blue chip prospects if we want to be able to compete with Clemson in the ACCCG

Mainly in the trenches

Having an offense that can compete and put up points is half of the solution. Our defense got gassed against Clemson. Same thing with Wisconsin this past bowl game. Look how Syracuse has been able to compete with Clemson the last few years. Syracuse can score points on Offense.

Giving the defense some rest, instead of repeated 3-outs would be nice too, along with a punter who can actually punt.
 
And this is why we needed to hit a HR with this hire. We do not have the bag game or institutional commitment to go head to head with the Clemsons and Bamas of the world on the recruiting trail any more. It is what it is. That means we need to win by creating schematic advantages. Yes, recruiting is still important but anyone expecting us to load up a roster of future NFL pro bowlers on both sides of the ball and just out-talent every team we face is going to be greatly disappointed.
