I’m not even on team manny but y’all are ridiculous with this lol you play the cards you’re dealt. Mario was left a 7 win team with a nfl QB. He could have won 7 games
The NFL QB looked anything but in the 6+ games he played and then didn't really play for the remainder of the season due to injury. If you use the "nfl QB" to set expectations then you have to account for the fact he wasn't available for ~6 games...

"7 win team" is a bit unfair when two of the losses were to #1 Alabama and a top 10 Michigan State and there was no bowl game. Replacing Alabama with Middle Tennessee State is a bit of a drop off ... Mario was much much worse.

Some guys were born to be great coordinators and some were born to be a head coach. Some of the greatest defensive minds either never got a chance, or got their chance and failed miserably. Mickey Andrews, Bud Foster, Randy Shannon, Venables(jury still out) all great coordinators, but that’s it, and there’s nothing wrong with that. If Manny were smart he’d realize that DC is his wheelhouse.

To be fair, Manny might be a good head man at a lower stakes job in the G5. He had the right career move originally when he went to Temple...go to a place where you can learn on the job. He didn't, and failed here. He's an energetic guy with ideas. Maybe it'll work out this time or maybe he didn't learn **** and will still suck.

Sigh... at the time, I thought that was SO COOL.
