Exactly. Total beta who let his kids run the show. Didn't preach hard work or work ethic. Let guys bail out on practice while starting on Saturdays. Played favorites. Tried too hard to be the cool uncle and liked-accepted, instead of the taking on the feared-respected CEO that it takes to be a head coach.

Dude is made to be a coordinator. Nothing about him is a #1 guy, just like Randy Shannon. Conversely, Golden could play CEO and is head coaching material at the right smaller school. Miami was just too big and off-brand for him, but he could be the top guy at the right-fit place.

I agree but that won't stop someone from giving him another shot. I think he will get something at least MAC level.

Manny was the DC with Richt, so he helped build the team. Also, he inherited a six win team. Whereas, Mario inherited a seven win team that avg nearly 30 pts in the ACC.

Manny had his flaws, but it doesn't excuse Mario for failing to become bowl eligible.
