Most universities, north, east, west, and south are approaching this in a similar way, or at least have been up to this point.

As far as actual games, Miami seems to be selling tickets for the fall season with the assumption of full, or close to full, capacity. That’s my understanding based on see capacity charts I’ve seen, and my conversations with the ticket office people.

That of course could change between now and September, but I think most sports administrations in any university are hoping that with the vaccine and infection and death rates dropping, that we will be something close to normality by the fall.

Whether that actually happens between now and September remains to be seen.

One thing is for sure, Covid will not be completely gone by the fall, even if it’s mostly gone, look at what happened to Duke in the ACC tournament.

There may still have some issues here and there with teams through the fall.

I don't disagree with any of that. But on the continuum, I'd expect to see some spring games in the SEC before I see one at UM. We'll save our chips for the fall.

As for whether covid is an issue in the fall, who knows. Between vaccinations and antibodies, the less vulnerable population will be way higher and so risk of transmission way lower come fall. Call that 'mostly gone' I guess. The problem is the vaccines aren't 100% effective and vaccinated people can likely be carriers even though they're not personally symptomatic. And the strain mutates so people will likely be getting boosters for a long while. But football must go on.

I only watched 2 minutes of his highlights but it's striking how clean a pocket he had for nearly every play save for a couple. IMO, that's where you see QBs struggle . . . how to move and elude rushers and still get rid of the ball.

Well, for the second time in this thread...

Athletic Departments across the country are talking about cutting non-revenue sports. Maybe, just maybe, it's not such a good idea to incur the cost of a 65K stadium for 10K people for whom there is no admission charge.
