Manny on Golic and Wingo SIAP.

Well thats what we did with Larry Coker.

And are you happy with the result? If Larry Coker won a NC, and nearly two, what could a quality HC have accomplished?

The 2000-2002 era was incredible but also still disappointed it was over so quick.

I’m greedy. I want a Saban-Bama type run, or what Dabo-Clemson may be in the middle of.

Maybe. And, we did beat #6 UF rather handily. So, there’s that.
We were firmly at #2, and had beaten FSU head to head. There is no doubt we would have been voted #1. The combination of peaking at season's end, and head to head meant a lot back then.

On Dec 3rd, Miami was #2 with three first place votes. FSU was #3, with one first place vote. Washington was #4, and had beaten Miami. Miami was also #2 in the Coaches Poll. I would have expected Miami to win the AP poll had FSU beaten OU. I am only saying there was no guarantee. Had FSU routed OU by 4 TDs, who knows? But the Noles choked, and they suck, and who cares anymore?

Let’s make the Gators an endangered species on August 24th!

I am sure I would have claimed a co-NC in 2000 with FSU, assuming I didn’t vomit. Of course, there’s no guarantee the AP would have voted Miami had FSU beaten OU. Especially if FSU won handily.

My point is the national champion in the BCS era was the winner of the BCS Championship Game. The AP or anyone else can make up any poll they like. There were no co-national champions.
I would have rather had a co national championship versus none at all. And yes there was no guarantee they would have voted for us but I will say this as I remember it like it was yesterday, it was as close to a guarantee as possible! All the AP voters were furious with the BCS and the massive mistake the computer made by putting FSu in over us. And all I read or heard on the news was unless FSU flat out whips Oklahoma, then the AP is voting Miami. I mean this is the whole reason the AP wanted no part of the BCS, and given the opportunity which was Miami in 2000 you can 99.9% guarantee there voting UM as the national champion not only because we were the best team that year but also because they wanted to give a big middle finger to the BCS like they did in 2003. Everyone knows that USC team deserved to be in that game over Oklahoma, just like us over FSU in 2000. One thing I am 100% on is we would have whooped OU @ss that year In The title game, it was **** home game for us! Smh
