MANNY ON CANES ALL ACCESS

Some of you guys need the get your faces out of the glue bag.

I believe some of you troglodytes actually think the head coach of a major P5 program goes on a fan site to get advice from sedentary ****** couch potatoes with BMIs well north of 30.

Just a question, if successful, does this guy bolt for greener pastures (NFL), or stay a la Bowden, Beamer, etc.?

I think more towards the later for these reasons:

1) Bobby didn't escape to Tally to get away from a communist regime.
2) Bobby's father wasn't ever the Mayor of Tally
3) Tally ain't no Miami - do they even have a Cuban Restaurant?
4) Miami saves a lot of travel and overnight stays during recruiting
5) Manny Doesn't have a son named Jeff that he will hire as an OC, which may allow him to stay even longer...

I was wondering about that too. Money is becoming less of an issue, with what coaches like Saban and Dabo are getting paid, so it comes down to whether you want to work with NFL players or college kids. I could see it going either way. Hopefully this will be a legitimate discussion in a few years.

what I see different about Manny vs our last couple hires is the high regard he holds Miami in, he talks about Miami like if its 2002...the other recent hires spoke about the program like if we were some broken little kid who needed saving and had all these flaws that they needed to save us from. Manny talks about Miami like its Alabama and thats how you set a standard, there are no built in excuses, this is a great place that should do great things, thats how you change culture, we are already great, its on everyone there to bring it out

For me he might change the trend that if they had to do it again like Schenelerg or Butch he is going to stay and become a legend like those mentioned.
When the Hurricanes are elite they run Miami.
Have a feeling if he’s successful he stays and when he retires he gets a statue.

That’s the difference between an informed coach who knows how to empower the program, the kids (how he’s getting the trio of juniors to stay for their senior seasons) and the fans, as opposed to someone who has no clue about the program’s strengths and walks in with a cut and paste binder for a blueprint for success.
