"The word I want to be is cutting edge," Diaz said about his plans for revamping an offense that ranked No. 104 in the nation in 2018.
Diaz avoided using the word "spread" when describing what he wants his offense to be, instead saying he wants "an offense that creates problems for the defense."
I was adamant about wanting an offensive coach with a proven track record as a playcaller, but Manny sold me, in large part, on this statement above.
Manny bills himself as an analytics guy.
I would pay money for a reporter to ask Manny which analytics he was looking at when hiring Enos and giving him carte blanche to build the offense and hire the staff, and if he truly believes the offense we’re building is “cutting edge” and “creates problems for the defense.”
Our offensive edge is dull in more ways than one, and we do nothing but create comfort for the defense.
Manny Navarro, if you’re reading, and I know you are, ASK MANNY DIAZ THESE QUESTIONS.
The people have a right to know.
