"The word I want to be is cutting edge," Diaz said about his plans for revamping an offense that ranked No. 104 in the nation in 2018.

Diaz avoided using the word "spread" when describing what he wants his offense to be, instead saying he wants "an offense that creates problems for the defense."

I was adamant about wanting an offensive coach with a proven track record as a playcaller, but Manny sold me, in large part, on this statement above.

Manny bills himself as an analytics guy.

I would pay money for a reporter to ask Manny which analytics he was looking at when hiring Enos and giving him carte blanche to build the offense and hire the staff, and if he truly believes the offense we’re building is “cutting edge” and “creates problems for the defense.”

Our offensive edge is dull in more ways than one, and we do nothing but create comfort for the defense.

Manny Navarro, if you’re reading, and I know you are, ASK MANNY DIAZ THESE QUESTIONS.

The people have a right to know.

Big talk, small game.

His answer as to why he went for 2 was frightening. 😳

Well the signs were there. The guy had nothing to do with Bama's offense. He only had 1 top 25 offense during his time calling plays for CMU and Arkansas. There was nothing cutting edge about Enos.
Yes, but his name is so cutting edge...

He said, “The ole ‘go for two down 14 points,’ strategy” as if that’s an actual thing.

Was he talking about on Madden?

Even coaches who like to go for 2 a lot don’t routinely do that. In fact, I don’t think I’ve ever seen it in that situation.

Down 14 with 4 minutes to go.

Unnerving.

I’ve actually been seeing it a lot in the nfl the last couple years . It’s analytics.

The offense would be a lot better with a better offensive line. I really don’t think Enos is an idiot, but he’s too stubborn to adjust and he hired awful position coaches, outside of maybe Hickson.

I just want to get to a place where we don’t have to hope a “stubborn” coach adapts.

How about we just hire a guy who doesn’t have to change his whole philosophy at 50 years old?

Oh, I’m right there with ya, man. It’s a dirty shame we keep making the same mistake over and over again.
