Manny is Willie at Free Shoes

We lost to FIU (down 23-3 in the 4th) and were shut out by LT. No OC is that bad. A team has to give zero *****, dare I say “want to lose”, if that happens. Nothing matters. Manny won’t survive the season. Imagine the final record without Shaq and Pinckney

Spot on.

I'm as disappointed as everyone else in Manny's first year, but I'm encouraged by the fact that he's shown a willingness to make changes where neccessary, something that Richt was far too stubborn to consider. Let's not forget...

2009- Clemson 9-5 under Dabo
2010- Clemson 6-7 under Dabo

In fact, things were so bad under Dabo his first two seasons he was 99.9% of the way towards getting fired. What happened? He fired both coordinators along with some other coaches, and the rest is history. I'd still like to see Baker axed as well, but the thing we all hated about Richt was that he refused to make changes. We all know Manny has to show something in 2020 or he's gone...period. I'm willing to give that chance, the same way Clemson did with Dabo.

P.S. Saban went 7-6 his first season at Bama including a loss to Louisiana-Monroe

The old Saban went 7-6 his first year at Bama argument. Tiresome.

His OC has lost most games all season. Last in Offense in the entire College Football which left his Defense in poor field position all year. To compound his problem, he did not even have a kicker that could even make 20 yard field goals which would have added another 3 wins with just an average kicker. That my Clown friend are the FACTS. Case closed.
Thats a simplistic argument, especially for a team with problems everywhere from schematics and game day coaching to recruiting, player development and intangibles like, as fiu said of UM, being “soft”.

There is a basic level competence that a P5 coach should have. Losing to Go5 schools while fielding top 20 talent falls short of that minimum requirement, and speaks to way more than an offensive system or a PK.

If you want to focus on that offense, tho, that’s fine. At the end of the day, diaz allowed that OC to enter games with that gameplan, to run that scheme, and destroy the season.

I know it’s comforting to think that there’s a quick fix to this mess, and I don’t blame you for doing so, but there isn’t. This team needs a number of new coaches, an infusion of talent and a leader to set a different tone for the team.

He just corrected with a new OC that had one of the top Spread Offenses in College Football. That is how you rectify the worst OC in college footbal who just happened to be the QB coach at Saban's Alabama.
Why didn’t he correct it last year? After Richt’s offense?

If Manny is fired mid-season I wouldn't mind it if they kept lashlee around until he gets that hc gig.our offensive players need that type of hard nose coach to get them focused on the right direction.

Especially when you look at the 6 teams he lost to compared to the teams we lost to. LSU and Georgia finished top 3 that year with Lsu winning the championship. That 2007 Bama team wouldn't lose more than 3 games with the schedule we had this year.

Apparently there is an OC that bad.

Yup. He actually might be worse given that willie had a long track record as a bad HC, while manny is actually a decent coordinator

doesnt matter who he hired. Hes done

LOL sure no jumping to conclusions at all. LMAO Willie had been a HC at a few places. Manny has been 1 for 1 year. He made 1 mistake - trusting in Saban knowing what a good OC is . ENos was going to be Saban's and Manny thought good enough for Saban good enough for me . But he lived and learned and fixed the mistake ASAP.

They are nothing alike . Now that doesn't mean Diaz won't be great or horrible but silly post OP.

Shows you the instant grad world we live in where after 1 season people write off a coach IN HIS FIRST YEAR EVER AS A HC. The pinnacle of stupidity right there. There would be not be so many HoF coaches if every did that.

- Terrible first year
- Turmoil within the administration
- Fires OC, hires young guy who’s highly thought of hoping to jumpstart the team with change of pace

Let’s hope the trend continues and Manny is fired mid season
Uh no! Taggert has 10 years HC experience Diaz has just 1. That alone negates any direct comparison.

Great post and very true

Post like this separates the ELITE posters on this board from the every day poster who knows not which way they come .
1mg and do many top of the food change posters like @RVACane @The Franchise @brock @OriginalGatorHater I’m leaving out a few others they know who they are that gives no quarter and takes no quarter with knowledge and experience to NEG and back it up , I myself is not at there level hats off to them

READ THERE POSTS AND UNDERSTAND THEM , I EVEN THOUGH I WAS RAISED IN FOOTBALL FROM COACH JACK HARDING ( LOOK HIS NAME UP ) TO PAPA NICK CHICKILLO and a few NFL players.

I listen to these STUDS here including the CIS staff .

Don’t NEG unless you got GAME or your rants fall like feathers instead of PILERS of GRANITE TO LEAD .

Enough of my rant

Didn’t Miami have a top 15 defense this past season?

Manny’s only hope is Rhett.

(In case anyone missed it the first 513 times it was mentioned)

Lolol mannys pretty bad dude. Lost to FIU. Take your bull**** somewhere else.

Briles took FSU from 114 to 85 in points per play.

114 to 81 in yards per point.

109 to 86 in yards per play.

Scoring increased 6 points per game. If we got just that from Lashlee we move from 100 to 59 at 28.6 ppg. I know some games distort average, but a measly 28 points a game has us 10-2 and tied with UNC.

Our defense is a lot better than Florida State.

Comparing Briles affect on them to predict what we will do is an inaccurate comparison.

With an average kicker, a Briles like turnaround would have us in very good place.

Still you are right calling that post bullshyt because Manny is bad. His presence and command of the team is a HUGE question mark.

But if Lashlee does for us what Briles did for FSU, we will win a lot of games and many will think Manny is the guy even if nothing else about him changes.

He has to keep the defense at the same level or better, though. If Manny doesn’t completely lose control we will beat the scrubs but probably get exposed by better teams unless he has a serious change in personality, confidence , and body language.

His lack of fortitude makes him volatile. He can win 10 or 11 next year and be the talk of cfb. He is more likely to be fired mid season, but neither outcome would surprise me at all.

To be somewhat fair, Manny didn't inherit the same talent that Willie did.

I still think that Manny is a terrible coach though.
