- Diaz on what he might have done differently late in the game: “The hardest situation was to let them score or not let them score. That was the toughest. We have a company that provides us with analytics and has anybody let somebody score when you are up by five? That scenario where the odds of them punching it in are good, but you watch our guys fight. The back and forth on that one, you can see it. Let them walk in and get the ball back to our offense and at worse we are down three and save our timeouts. You are in a situation as a leader where there are no great alternatives. You are choosing between the best, worst alternative. Our players were up for the fight and it is tough to say hey, let’s stop fighting.”

ITS ABOUT WINNING! YOU DUMBA$$! ITS ABOUT WINNING! THAT'S WHY YOU ARE THE HC TO GIVE PLAYERS DIRECTION AND INSTRUCTIONS WITH THE PURPOSE AND GOAL OF WINNING THE MFING GAME

He must goooo! My aneurysm its about to pop because of this moron!

Might be different if there were 2 minutes left and you had Georgia’s defense. The play is to actually call the timeout at 58 seconds (not let 12 seconds run off like a moron not sure what the analytics would think about that decision) and then let them score immediately. This is a direct indictment of why he can’t coach power 5 football

they play for each other guys. not the other team in case someone was wondering.

i think manny was speaking of the canes fan who punched the fsu fan in the stadium.

Players are always up to the fight! Much like king wasn’t going to sit with a busted knee or bubba wasn’t going to quit with a busted shoulder. It’s the HC job to provide the best chance to win with player safety in mind. Fireable with cause

ill i feel sick GIF

i guess the players didn't fight hard enough because fsu scored anyways? what a moron! singao!

Yeah, the guy is a moron.

Part of being an adult and the head coach is to know better than your players.

Players would go for it on every fourth down. They'd want to blitz every down. They'd want to air out every play and go for the kill shot every time.

Of course this defense wanted to try and get the stop, but that wasn't the smart or logical play.

Tyler Van Dyke with the ball at the 25 yard line and a time out, or two—with about a minute to play—makes a **** of a lot more sense where a field goal wins or ties the game (this was before the two-point conversion was good), than thinking this defense is going to stop FSU from going six inches on four tries.

Further proof this guy doesn't get it and wants to be liked / accepted by his kids, not feared / respected.

let me see if I have the facts :

1. you have 50 seconds left, with 2 timeouts ....

2. because of the timeouts, and all you need is a field goal, the whole playbook is open to you ....

3. you've got a kicker that you can feel good about, if you just get him to a 50 yard kick ....

4. wind and weather are not a factor in the kicking game or in running your offense ...

5. you have a QB that can get you the 45 yards you need, which is the longest you'll have to go, even if all you get is a touchback on the ensuing kickoff ....

6. if you bring out the offense, then your 5 best players on the field during your comeback in the second half: TVD, Rooster, K-Smith, Mallory, and Rambo are on the field with a chance to win (or at least tie) the game for you, instead of sitting on the bench .....

OR ... you can try and stop their offense 4 times in a row from gaining 24 inches, using the 90th ranked defense in the country to do it.

did I miss anything???

What a freaking' clusterfu*k!

Given his track record, it's the kind of coaching that necessitates him being fired in the locker room and forced to find his own ride back to Miami to clean out his office.
