Manny did something the previous two head coaches did not....

Yup. It's nice that he saw the glaring problem with Enos and made a change both in OC, but philosophy (if we go to a spread as well).

But, Banda and Patke are his buddies. Those two are not carrying their weight on this staff.
I’m not disagreeing about Banda, but he’s putting Safety’s in the league and Safety doesn’t seem to be our worst recruited position.

One thing that he is not is dumb.

No way in the world he was letting his literal dream job go down the drain while being tied to Dan Enos. It still may very well go down the drain, but he’s going to do his best to prevent it and not just sit there and watch like his predecessors.
Exactly.

Social media views the world like an old western with good guys in white hats and bad guys in black hats when reality is never that simple. Narrative takes the place of pragmatism.

Golden’s last off-season was as toxic as this. Even more so possibly as he didn’t fire anyone.

Next season is going to make Golden's last season look like a walk in the park. Manny is going to be chased out of town with pitchforks. I don't believe this Lashlee guy truly knows what he's walking in to.

One hire and the Manny fanboys are back in full effect 🤦🏾‍♂️ Defensive staff needs changes too, but Manny will not fire any of his buddies.

He’s still doing something else that golden and Richt did. Leaving his buddies employed when they should also be fired.
The defense overall is decent. Too much change too soon can destroy continuity. I believe he needs to replace one of them right now. If the offense takes off this season then X the rest of them out on defense that aren't holding their weight.

I can understand the thought process that he is using, even though I think he will fail

So...yet ANOTHER thing he has in common with Randy Shannon.

Yep and did it fast af . I believe Diaz will prove a lot of people wrong but then again if you write off any coach ( not just diaz any coach period) after 1 year in which it was the first year they HAD EVER BEEN A HC then you are an idiot . Diaz made 1 mistake - thinking Saban knew what a good OC was as Enos was going to be his . He figured good enough for Bama good enough for UM but he didn't realize Bama is a machine and it doest matter who is calling the plays the talent level they buy is so high it almost doesnt matter .

Lesson learned . Got one of the truly elite OC minds in college and move on . We got a great D , we have a great punter . We just need to get Williams play QB well consistently as he was either amazing or really bad and get decent kicking . ( like Baxa did as a freshman ) and the coastal is ours most years.

Patke & Banda are Manny's D'Onofrio & Jon Richt so he hasn't fired any of his buddies yet. He never even met Enos before he was interested in hiring him at Miami so it's not like they were best buddies. When Patke & Banda are sent walking then you can say Manny finally stepped up.
