Dude is a average DC ..

That is all

Way too much hype around this guy !

Not his best game but LSU didn't even hit 300 total yards. This game was 100% on Richt, Rosier and offense and then add in Feagles shanking every punt.

The only fault I give Diaz is putting Robert Knowles in the game. The dude is not the standard and has no business being on the football field outside of special teams. That long run was his fault.

Honestly, he had me going crazy when he didn’t have us in the right position to stop obvious run downs at crucial points in the game.

But the defense didn’t play too bad. They were always on the field, had to defend a short field, and made some decent plays. Giving up 27 in those circumstances isn’t awful. The offense has to bail them out to give them time to recuperate, and obviously feagles can’t punt the ball 20 yards 3 times.

Average is very fair. People who support him will point to the defensive stats from tonight, which aren’t that bad - total yards or 3rd down conversion.

Best analysis I’ve read of him is he has been below average in situational play calling. Reliance on blitz (creative or otherwise) for the sake of blitz is a big wtf.

he call blitzed on many 3rd and 10s that back fired instead of going zone to prevent the first downs

Don’t like him and he will prove a big liability as the season moves forwars

If his name was Michael Berkowitz hed have ZERO support here. Guy is John Lovett level. Hes not the worst but he aint Miami calibur.

Held LSU to 296 yds and 17 first downs. Even held them to 3/16 on 3rd down conversions. Add 2 turnovers to that and those horrendous punts and it seems more than unfair to point at the defense as the problem.

Its one of a dozen problems. Its a mediocre to above average defense. Not a Miami level D at all.

I mean, they converted 3 of 16 3rd downs (and 1 of 1 4th downs), but there were a couple of blitz calls on 3rd and 10 that were seriously questionable. One of them left Shaq chasing a slot to the sideline only to find himself backtracking to the middle of the field on QB scramble.

Really shaky ****, but we actually have worse problems. Like, way, way scary worse.

I told y’all this dude wasn’t like that but y’all wanted to crown him all offseason. He’ll find some stats he can spin

The bulk of the experienced talent is on defense. LSU led by a new OC with a second string QB, mediocre OL (with backups), and no proven talent at RB and WR should have been completely shut down by a good qualify DC.

I agree, not defending him, just pointing out how awful the offense was tonight. A great DC would have completely taken away their run game with LSU having all new received and a new QB.

That would be fine if this was an Oklahoma/Clemson offense. But giving up so many points, regardless of yards, to an LSU offense that was Florida bad last year, with a new OC and terrible QB who was just as bad as Rosier minus the Interceptions....very disappointing performance defensively
