Manny Diaz with a smart answer

The offense and special teams have been so bad this year that Manny is getting an automatic bump for not sucking like the other units.

The stats say he has one of the top defenses in the country, but that's not what I saw when we played LSU and BC. Even against Duke, Toledo, and Virginia he's struggled for stretches. On OTH Romberg was talking about how we have one of the top defenses, and Rolle chimed in saying, "allegedly, allegedly. " I agree.

Manny has had some good moments, especially against UNC. But he's also been inconsistent and prone to giving up head-scratching big plays. He needs to be more consistent and sound, especially against the better teams we play.

It’s his job to put a good defense on the field. If he’s worried about the offense putting him in a bad spot then he’s a loser. Just do your job.

His defense got *** raped several times last year. And they totally **** the sheets two weeks ago at BC. So, before he gets too frustrated and quits, he should first string a few really good seasons together.
Yes it's his job to get the defense ready to play every game, and I believe he's doing a good job up till now. But what I was referring to is that it's difficult and frustrating for the defense to carry the team and carry the burden because Richt ain't doing what he's getting paid to do... to get an effective offense on the field.
I agree that if he builds up his resume his stock will go up substantially... but that doesn't mean that he couldn't get an offer more sooner than later that he won't be able to turn down. Last year his father was interviewed and asked that question and it seemed to me that he concluded that Manny is open to leaving if it's advantageous. Time will tell...

As frustrated as we all are with MR, there's no way this actually happens. We all see that the offensive side of the ball has passed him by but I don't think he's crazy enough to think that he has a clue about defensive football. In my view, he would hire another strong defensive coordinator with a similar attacking system who would then bring in his guys. Turns out he was right on the Manny hire and I think he would get it right again. I don't have any names but I'm certain that they are out there.

Realizing that Baby Mork is not best at QB coach, he'll promote him to DC.

WHy do you guys think he’s leaving? He’s home. He gets to coach great athletes. He’s making a bunch of money. And he’s the interim HC when Rickety finally gets greased.

Only way he leaves is if he gets a good HC offer.
We should pay that man his money and make him the next Brent Venables

I think he absolutely will get a nice HC offer.
