"Analytics" is not a fad. It is the byproduct of technological advancements in the ability to capture data, store data, transfer data, and transform data. Technological advancement only moves 1-way: forward.

I'm not too interested in having this discussion, because (1) the trend is plain as day, and (2) the more some people decide to stick their head in the sand, the easier it is for analytically inclined people to differentiate themselves.

But this is an amusing take.

This isn't the thing to make fun of him about. I think there's only like three NFL teams that's don't have analytics guys. Today there are a bunch of stats that are charted by analytics guys, it's up to the head coach and team what to do with the data.

And none of those dorks looking for obscure stats about which players suddenly become flatulent 2 hours before they record a sack are leaders. They’re just nerds who have convinced other nerds that their stupid analytics mean something.

I’d have a lot less trouble with this idiocy if Manure was a video coordinator tracking spontaneous acts of kindness. At his core, he’s a dorky video segment producer, so maybe that’s what he should be doing.

This is an insult to any coach or organization who effectively uses analytics. Being a wannabe analytics stats nerd is NOT the same thing as analytics that affect the cot**** football game. This example is just stuff to appear/sound analytical instead of relevant analytics that make your football players perform better.
