Manny Diaz on WQAM 6-28-21

Manny Diaz on WQAM: You know, we felt like we were close here last year. To quote my good friend, and former Temple Head Coach, Al Golden, “Last year we felt like we laid down the true foundation for 2021. We are building the University of Miami football program brick by brick. Last year we laid the foundation, this year is another step, and we should be ready to go by 2027.” At this point I’d like to announce that I’ve been extended by Black James until 2031. No further questions at this time.
I feel like you only got laughing reactions because they felt bad for all of the dumb votes this comment got.

Even the so-called mopes are like this post was sooooooo ******* stoooooooopid...

Paraphrasing the **** out of this but:

-said we have a few "non-public" commits.

-touched on winning the recruiting game come NSD instead of having a bunch of kids commit in the Summer only to not wind up in the class.

-talked about Paradise and knowing that some kids are definitely interested while they know others aren't.

-talked about NIL a bit, nothing Earth shattering.

-said King should be good for Bama.

There was more to it than that but I got sidetracked and wasn't paying much attention.
You need to post more so I can see more of the Gif in your profile

He’s a interesting player.. very very football smart. I think it’s going to be hard to keep him off the field

We missed on a couple guys higher on our board. But Balom has talent. Hard to get a full read based on HUDL highlights, but I put him second behind Tae in that class. I was meh on Harrell and downright scratching my head on Washington. Not Balom. Kid just makes plays and is in position.

Agree with you about "all this depth", where is it? Hall and Bolden are gone after this year. Tae, Kinchens and Williams all look the part. But Balom will most likely start the season in the 2-deep this year, and will almost certainly be in the 2-deep next year as a RS Sophomore even if he gets passed by 1 or more of those 3 guys. And none of them has proven anything yet, so jump ball.

Exactly. I think what people do is see star ranking and equate that to their spot on a depth chart. Balom has actually taken snaps and had time to learn the playbook and isnt a slouch. After hall and bubba are gone I think he starts the next season off in 3 man rotation with the Williams duo

Thank you for the #. You are now going to be hounded for the next 4 months for "moar". Good luck with that.
Truthfully, the number is useless lol. It was four when it last heard (about week and half ago). I could be more or less now. Silent commits are useless.

What does matter I guess, is that some of those will be announcing this month. Two of those have "said" ESD as announcement though.

You guys took my comment about there being a room of 5* kids in front of Balom and ran with it. LOL. I did say at the end may the best man win. I didnt say he needed to start drafting up his transfer papers.

Lets be frank, its a tough room. Everyone on this site is in love with JW, AW and KK. If he beats them out, im all for it. But its a tough room no matter how you slice it. Having 4 legit safeties behind Hall and Bolden gives us great depth next year and into the future. Thats not even counting KWashington.

I don't know much about Balom but his offer sheet was not overly loaded like the some of the other kids we have. I always look at offers over stars/ratings. Maybe he balls out and makes a name for himself in a stacked room, I wish him luck
