If Duke wins, and they still are not ranked, does that mean another at large bid makes the playoff?
The ACC leadership knows they are already on borrowed time as a conference.I think more will come of this down the road. The ACC knows this isn't a good look, especially if Duke beats UVA, they would be left out of the CFP. Not only will alot of schools realize how terrible this is set up, but schools are going to make a stronger case to be released from their obligations to the league. Just some midnight thoughts, but what do I know.
Pathetic.
There is nothing else but thisDon’t blame the ACC……blame Mario for losing to SMC
Yep. ACC will phone this one in for Virginia. I don't bet on sports, but if I did, I'd bet this one.Does duke winning the acc just give the spot to another G5?
I hope dook wins and acc gets ZERO teams inThis fkn conference deserves a 5 loss champion
The American and the Mountain West were smart enough to go by CFP rankings when you can’t use H2H. But not the ACC.You've got to be incompetent at creating tie breaker rules when something like this is the result. Why not just go to highest ranked teams at this point.
SEC championship was decided by the same tiebreaker. The American and the Mountain West were smart enough to go by CFP rankings when you can’t use H2H. But not the ACC.
Their top 4 teams are all in the top 10. They will never have an 8-4 team who lost to UCONN in the mix.SEC championship was decided by the same tiebreaker.
7-5Their top 4 teams are all in the top 10. They will never have an 8-4 team who lost to UCONN in the mix.
****
Theoretically they could have if UGA/TAMU/BAMA/OLE MISS lost all their non conference games, but the point is they had the same issue as the ACC.. a logjam of teams with the same conference record and they decided it the same way.Their top 4 teams are all in the top 10. They will never have an 8-4 team who lost to UCONN in the mix.
If only Jim Phillips had balls he would wake up tomorrow and say Miami is in the game over Duke. A 7-5 team has no claim to play for the title of this leagueI think more will come of this down the road. Love itThe rule states that the five highest ranked conference champions get an automatic bid. I can see a scenario where the AAC champion (North Texas or Navy) and the Sun Belt Champion (likely James Madison who will be 12-1) will both be ranked higher than Dook.
That would mean no ACC teams in the playoff.
