Stats are over the season or games, and that is fine. However, by my count there were three losses this year where we led in the fourth quarter and went on to lose because the defense couldn’t get a stop (UF, UNC, Duke). Yes the offense needs to score more points, but the defense also needs to get stops in those situations. That is not counting the VT game. The defense did not do its job when it was most needed.IMO i don't think Baker and the defensive coaches are perfect but they've put together a top 25 defense again in most every important defensive category. Maybe shuffle some responsibilities around but that's good enough to win the Coastal at least. Noone should be fired on that side.
The O on the other hand is literally in the bottom third of the ncaa in almost every important offensive category, dead last in 3rd downs. That's unacceptable. I don't know what changes if any that Manny will make but you can hear it in his voice & demeanor that he's going to shake it up as he should.

And a direct reflection of his culture and all of this season’s shortcomings. This team is fine when everything is easy and going well. When it is time to sack up, you are deep in the game, and you are getting punched in the mouth, it becomes more difficult and we tend to wilt. This has been the hallmark during the Diaz regime. I told my son Duke scores when they got the short field and they did.

He seemed waaayyy too comfortable and nonchalant about losing back to back to FIU and Duke. Wow.
