Play as a team and however we get it done, just get it done.

Glibert is saying what every fan should be saying.
Just win.

How about we just coach. Coach Diaz talking about cleaning things up in his postgame presser. These are same things we see week in and week out and nothing has changed. Why does this continue? There is a consistent systemic problem of this team and program regressing after bye weeks and in the middle of the seasons. We saw this all last year and it has propagated onto the 2020 season. After a bye week, time and time again the team comes out sloppy, confused, and undisciplined. The defense gave up 28 points and nearly 300 yards of offense in the 1st half against a backup QB that ranks towards the bottom of the ACC. The team is undisciplined with off sides, false starts, and personal fouls. Defensive players celebrating after each positive play, but give up nearly 8 yards per play.

This is a game we probably should have lost if not for King. King carried the team with 430 yards of passing an over 100+ rushing and 5 TDs. Without his effort, this is a loss and the focus would be on the very things that I previously mentioned.

Each game nudges me more towards thinking Manny is not what this program needs. He lacks the fire and willingness to get into his players during a game. We see so many players playing selfish football not doing their assignments, getting penalties, and what I call playing for themselves. Those things are all on the head coach. He talks over and over about a playing to the Miami standard, but I don't see it enforced. If I were coach, I call a time out in the 1st qtr and light up my defense on national tv that this effort and selfishness is unacceptable. This is not how we play. Instead, he stands on the sidelines under his mask emotionless while his defense collapses. It seems he'd rather be loved than feared and that's a problem.

Last night @Firesite questioned, "Why does LashLee look like the head coach and Diaz looks the the assistant?" I agreed with him.

Lashlee is passionate. He gets in his player's faces when needed. He coaches them up in real-time. You can see it with his gestures and emotions of what the players should be doing as he's talking with them during game. It's refreshing to see. Manny might as well be in the booth with the assistant coaches because I see very little side line communication with the players other than when they get a personal foul. The head coach must energize his team. He makes sure they're well prepared and mentally ready to play and I just don't see that. It's very apparent in the 1st half after a bye week.

I take each game within its own context instead of blaming it on some sort of systemic reason.

This was a huge Prime Time game on the road and was NC State's Super Bowl. (They were celebrating like it was their biggest game of the season, and quite frankly it was their final lifeline at staying in the ACC Championship game conversation.)

This Miami team usually poops the bed in games like this, with all the intangibles against them, all the momentum against them and especially on the road.

Just as Manny said, this team has a lot of things to clean up. (We know this team is not perfect.)

But he also said that these last couple weeks have been a bit unique in the way they have had to prepare due to injuries and COVID and Kickers having to be on scout teams and probably some other nonsense we do not even know about behind closed doors.

So let's just keep a proper perspective, celebrate a hard fought win on the road and be very happy with it.

King just carries himself differently, that is how a true leader sounds and it is so refreshing to hear. We all know that he is one of the major reasons this team is 6-1 and not 4-3 but yet he still is giving pretty much credit to the team. The next 3 games will be a big challenge especially on D but we got a good shot with King as our QB and if Manolo is starting to get more involved on defense.

Stop making excuses that this is just what we do after a bye week. It's happened after every bye week in the Manny Diaz head coach era. That's a problem that the head coach hasn't solved. You can't just accept the win and ignore the problems. If NC State drove down and scored a TD to win the game, then what would the narrative be? Why should that change just because we won?

You further go onto say that this was NC State's Super Bowl. We entered the game 4-1 with more to play for than NC State yet we come out emotionless and lackluster. We're trying to get to the ACC Championship game, but in the 1st half we look like the team with nothing to play for. This is the ACC. Every team is playing to win. You need to show up and show out.

It's week 7 and we've had 2 bye weeks. The team should be playing it's best ball and they look like it's game 1 of the season. You have players popping off and/or celebrating after every positive play than just focusing on doing their job and letting their performance speak for itself. We had guys jumping offsides and showing their hand of who was blitzing making it easier for the offense. If we come out the same way next week against VT, then VT rushes for 300+ and we get smoked.

This team has major deficiencies and looked absolutely abysmal last year especially on offense.
This team is also maturing and looking much better in such a quick turn around and that has to be emphasized.

I am not ignoring problems. I am accentuating the positives and focusing on the win as exactly what it is. A hard fought victory in a season filled with some bumps and bruises and obstacles.

IF I cannot revel and bask in the glory as a fan for a win like last night then what is the point?

Just mope and complain about things I have no control over???

No, I try to keep an even keel and focus on what is positive, and there are many positives to take away from last night.

I'm not even talking about X's and O's. What is the team's identity? What are it's characteristics?

The issues are the team's mentality, discipline, and focus. Those have nothing to do with scoring points. Scoring more points than your opponent either hides or reveals those intangibles.

I agree that those issues have to be resolved. But they are issues that can be coached up and rectified.
Our next game against the Hokies will give me a better measurement on how good this team can be and how the staff can control emotions along with mental preparation.

I do not care how we win the game though, this team will believe they can beat anyone as long as King is on the field and in rhythm.

They haven't. The problems have been there for 1.5 years and that's on the coach.
