Play as a team and however we get it done, just get it done.
Glibert is saying what every fan should be saying.
Just win.
How about we just coach. Coach Diaz talking about cleaning things up in his postgame presser. These are same things we see week in and week out and nothing has changed. Why does this continue? There is a consistent systemic problem of this team and program regressing after bye weeks and in the middle of the seasons. We saw this all last year and it has propagated onto the 2020 season. After a bye week, time and time again the team comes out sloppy, confused, and undisciplined. The defense gave up 28 points and nearly 300 yards of offense in the 1st half against a backup QB that ranks towards the bottom of the ACC. The team is undisciplined with off sides, false starts, and personal fouls. Defensive players celebrating after each positive play, but give up nearly 8 yards per play.
This is a game we probably should have lost if not for King. King carried the team with 430 yards of passing an over 100+ rushing and 5 TDs. Without his effort, this is a loss and the focus would be on the very things that I previously mentioned.
Each game nudges me more towards thinking Manny is not what this program needs. He lacks the fire and willingness to get into his players during a game. We see so many players playing selfish football not doing their assignments, getting penalties, and what I call playing for themselves. Those things are all on the head coach. He talks over and over about a playing to the Miami standard, but I don't see it enforced. If I were coach, I call a time out in the 1st qtr and light up my defense on national tv that this effort and selfishness is unacceptable. This is not how we play. Instead, he stands on the sidelines under his mask emotionless while his defense collapses. It seems he'd rather be loved than feared and that's a problem.
Last night
@Firesite questioned, "Why does LashLee look like the head coach and Diaz looks the the assistant?" I agreed with him.
Field goal ain't look so bad now huh It was the wrong call. You can’t assume you will get the ball back AND go down the field and score a TD. They needed a TD regardless. The he only difference after the FG was that they had less time and more pressure.

Lashlee is passionate. He gets in his player's faces when needed. He coaches them up in real-time. You can see it with his gestures and emotions of what the players should be doing as he's talking with them during game. It's refreshing to see. Manny might as well be in the booth with the assistant coaches because I see very little side line communication with the players other than when they get a personal foul. The head coach must energize his team. He makes sure they're well prepared and mentally ready to play and I just don't see that. It's very apparent in the 1st half after a bye week.
