Manny Diaz buyout - put to bed

Just think for a moment about how much money the school loses when the team sucks and less people go to games or buy apparel. Plus, it has been proven that application numbers for students tick up when the football team is good.

So whatever the figure is, $4M, $8M, the school is losing some untold number of millions so long as they keep this POS.

I want to know what kickbacks our BOT members have received from Manny’s father since he was hired.

There is ZERO chance Blake actually went rogue and signed Manny in under 24 hours by himself.

You think Blake drew up a contract by himself?

It’s definitely the BOT. Son of the Democrat Chairman and former mayor as football…son of our biggest donor for baseball….

If Barry Jackson wants a real story, he should investigate the cronyism and the kickbacks I guarantee happened.
I dont want to talk about the p-word... but somethings are undeniable. Donna Shalala built her administration modeled off the Dem Party she came from and went back to, thats a fact. Like both parties they are built on loyalty and power rather than actually being capable of doing their jobs. It's hard for me to see a way it can be corrected when so much depends on influential booster's offspring being taken care of. Is DiMare really gonna fund an overhaul that could threaten his son's future? I think not. Best thing Miami can do is what theyve kind of always done... turn the page on Manny, pretend to care, rinse-wash-repeat. Maybe they throw a bone and reassign Blake James to another school built in the same imagine but the new AD will be the same as the old.

1. Bruce Feldman is wrong. Buyout is not $8mm

2. Contracts are universally written where the buyout amount is a lesser percentage of the remaining years base salary. Use 50% as a middle point, and they often times can be paid out over multiple years. In the accounting world think of depreciating a tangible asset. Unless Blake James went rogue and deviated from precedence, I’d be shocked if Manny’s buyout was more than $5mm

3. To put this to bed, let’s use the Al Golden contract buyout as an example. Read for yourself.

Let’s use some reason here guys. Just because someone in the media says something doesn’t mean it’s true. Let’s also remember the turmoil and disfunction within the Athletic Department currently. You can guarantee this fake news came from this camp
It doesn't matter what his buyout is, he's not going anywhere, accept it. Manny will be back for Season 4. If you want a big time coach at UM ask yourself two questions: 1. Who is the 1 coach you really want? 2. How much are you willing to pay? $5 million over 5 years? $7-8 million over 5 years? A top 25 coach is $4 million. A top 5 coach is $7.5 million. Is UM willing to pay a coach this much? Are you willing to go for a top OC or DC and give him 5 years and $20 million? Will a coach even come to UM for $4 million? If I were running the show, I would focus on a new AD and then make the other decisions, as a good coach isn't going to work for a lame duck AD. A top AD is going to cost you $1.2 to $1.5 million, that's where you start.

The buyout amount is bull**** . Also the part about Miami having starters out and relying on a freshman QB was literally spoon fed to Feldman by Camp Hecht. This **** is comical and they are just going to come out looking even more incompetent by employing these desperate measures.
Exactly ..Since when is TVd 3rd string qb..:

Manny’s contract goes up by 500k every year .. next two years 4.5 and 5mm, respectively. Speculation that buyout was around 7mm which would be about 75pct.
$500,000.00 increase each year , invest just the increase each year gee wiz , I would not give HOOT what anyone thought of me knowing I got my QESO CREME compounding.

You mean to tell me the American media gives false information? 1st I've heard of this!

After watching the teams remaining on our schedule play, we may only win 1 or 2 more. I have 0 confidence and that's all on Manny. A good coach wins 8-9 games minimum.... easy. While everyone was chirping about us being a sleeper, every other ACC football team got better. Miami needs to come up with the $$$$$$ for his buyout and admit the mistake before the recruits start to back away. Our season has come down to beating FSU and that's it.
IF IF IF IF IF Miami hires the right coach, this can turn around quick.

I’m an equal opportunity hater…I can’t stand ANY politician regardless of their party. Useless waste of space, every one of them.

It’s clear that UM is run by politicians and lawyers…probably the two worst groups of people to put in charge of anything as long as actual results are important

Is the money due the day he is fired? If it’s not a lump sum and you owe him the money regardless why does it matter? I’d also wager they’ll lose so much money not firing him and bringing him back next season. I’m not a season ticket holder but I wouldn’t renew. I’d imagine many who are won’t. The trickle down effect renders most of this moot.

Name one time the media has lied to us. Next you will be trying to tell us politicians are not honest! Do you have no shame?

Do you know why Manny’s buyout is so expensive?

It’s worth it!

Usually the increase in applications comes from out of state students. They pay more than instate.
