Manny Confirms Blake Baker is Still calling the Defense

It would be hilarious to learn that it was actually Baker who made the adjustments and play calls the past two weeks that resulted in the defense locking down NC St and Va Tech late in the game.
 
Context matters. I heard the interview with Joe Rose this morning and his response to the question posed by Joe, and it was not a confirmation that Blake is calling all the plays. At most, he was saying Blake called some plays and most of the defensive staff has input.

I did not take it as confirmation that Blake is calling all the plays. He was spinning his wheels responding to that question (the full response is longer than what was quoted in the OP) and he spent most of his response time deflecting.

for as good as our D has been over the years, everyone knocked not being able to make the defining plays when it mattered. well, this D has taken the last two 4th quarters and locked both teams up defensively. made the plays they needed to win games. the D still needs to improve and needs an infusion of talent at LB and CB, but it has been the diff in those 2 4th quarters

Didn’t we just hold VT to two TDs below their scoring average? Haven’t we shut down teams when it’s mattered most this season?

No 4th and 17 against UNC. No VT down the field for the win after a miracle comeback. No nothing really.

No matter how good or poor of a job Baker does at DC, the fact still remains that he is unnecessary. If the U was a state school and could pay their coaches whatever then he would be fine. At the U though where there is a limited coaching budget, the money would be much better spent in trying to retain Lashlee next year!
 
Ok. The Mega Mopes rooting for losses have been called out before. They’re miserable and beyond repair.

Ok Super Slurpers, who besides @Go Canes!! wants to stand by Blake Baker to stay as DC and go on record as such?

Does this include any particular position coaches as well? Asking for a friend.
