Manny calling the Whiskey game is a BIG MISTAKE

People around here need to quit worrying about our defense it'll be ok.better get worried about the other side of the ball.cmr not hiring for that side of the ball tells you all you need to know.besides Manny coaching the Wisconsin game if I was hc I'd leave it up to the players if they wanted him to coach. Some don't understand this but when your part something like this a football squad, army squad etc bonds are made that last a lifetime a brotherhood .

I’m fine with Manny coaching through the bowl game. He built the **** defense and I’m sure wants to finish it out and the kids want to play for him. His leaving is a business decision, after all. The co-coordinators have all spring and summer to figure it out. Lends a bit of continuity to a difficult situation. I’m way more worried about Richt not opening up a search for an experienced DC or not even considering an OC, and the apparent recruiting repercussions than I am about Manny coaching the bowl game. Geez.
Thats what bothered me too. I think he made the decision so quickly to go with existing staff because he may have been concerned that diaz would poach them.

In any event, all this talk about this being a meaningless game is ridiculous. This is a bowl game and it matters whether we win or lose. Diaz gives us the best chance to win.

First, I am happy for Manny and wish him the best at Temple. He needed to get away from Mark Richt aka Al Golden 2.0. Manny's frustration was mounting.

So, why is it a Big Mistake for Manny to call the Whiskey game? Because our current Co-DCs, who have a combined total of 4 years of Collegiate Coaching Experience, have never called a game. They need all the game experience they can get. We are going to lose the Whiskey game with or without Manny. Why not let the Incarnate Word Wizards get it cracking in a game that is as useless as Stank *****?

Richt is setting the Incarnate Word Wizards up for failure by throwing them into the fire against UF. It's foolish. I can hear Richt now: "We love our Co-DCs. They need time to mature. We will give them time."

Thoughts?

Tf is an "Incarnate Word Wizard"?

I agree totally!! Diaz is now the enemy and should no longer touch UM property! he has a contract with another program and should not have more time down here advertising to recruits his defense and why these kids need to follow him to Temple! It's just free exposure for him with nothing to lose!

Banda and the other defensive coaches need to use this game to advertise themselves to the kids for a reason to stay on board. If they are hesitant due to the exit of Manny, after watching the style of play as being the same detached from Diaz these kids will probably recommit knowing our coaches will bring the same defense!

Richt need to thank Diaz for his time here and kick him on down the road! It ludicrous that these guys running the program just can't understand some of the simplest stuff!!

Baffling as to why Manny decided to come back for an entirely meaningless game and not devote 100% of his time to his new gig. You got coaches missing out on semifinal games and yet Manny thinks the Yankees bowl is worth coming back for? Dumbest thing he's ever done

In Manny's defense he has no other games to coach and this gives him free exposure to recruits to follow him to Temple. Richt is the fool for letting him stay around!! Richt need to put this game entirely in the hands of the new coaches to advertise their worth to the recruits down here to stay the course!!

This is more often typical than not and me thinks you all like to ***** about everything. There's enough to ***** about, if that's your thing, that you don't have to reach with things like this.
In meaningful bowl games the departing coach will usually stick around. Tho not always... Bama and kiffen comes to mind.

This isn’t a meaningful game, and so it’s common for the coach to leave.

Nut job, if he and Richt didn't have a good relationship he wouldn't want to do it OR be allowed to do it. If I'm going too fast you let me know and I'll go real slow for you!
Seemed pretty obvious in interviews manny was frustrated with the performance of the O. Doesn’t mean he hates richt, the man who gave him the stepping stone to a HC job.

Mannys relationship with richt is immaterial here tho... he’s coaching his guys, who are going to finish the best season mannys ever had. Those are the 2 motivators here.. not abandoning his players, and insuring that his defense stays #2.

Dead on!

You, sir are by far my favorite poster on this site. If we ever cross paths your drinks are on me

Manny is being smart and looking after his future; coaching this bowl game is a “long game” play.

He’s coaching this game to leave on a high note, and not burning bridges, because he knows he has a great chance to be Miami’s HC one day, if he does well as a HC at his next stop or 2.

Mark knows he has to win this bowl game so Manny coaching gives him the best shot

It’s going to be a long offseason regardless

caneworld I don't blame you for being in a abusive marriage hoping things would change! You deserve to vent, but its better to get a divorce!

Your analogy of an abusive marriage shows your immaturity... your abuser Richt is still around.... Manny's contract doesn't start until after the bowls. So if he wants to stay loyal to the kids he coached over the last 3 years, it shows his commitment to them....

The f00l Richt who hasn't done anything since the end of the season. for the sh1tty offense he runs, is the one who has abused the program and the kids...
... go **** on him.

At the time it was announced it didn't matter but now that we promoted him why isn't Banda calling plays? He needs the experience.

Stop preaching to the choir! Like I said many time on this board which you seem to miss, I hate Richt more than anyone on here and that includes you. You though find it exciting to vent just to be venting and making zero point! I'm in agreement about Richt!! My point is that Diaz being here is meaningless! Who cares what he feels about the kids. If he cared so much he would have stayed! He took the money and thats what is more important to him! No one blames him for that. He did what was best for his family! Now we need to move on and deal with what we have here with the guys dedicated to this team!! No need to continue to hype Diaz up during the last game because thats all the commentators will be talking about how great Diaz is and going to Temple!! Free pub!!

Manny so frustrated with Richt that he wanted to practice with da Canes and coach the defense in the bowl game. I swear, some of you people dumber than dirt!

Anybody that believes Manny is leaving because he’s “mad at Richt” is a child. He’s leaving because he got a better opportunity. That’s an adult decision
