Manny calling the Whiskey game is a BIG MISTAKE

First, I am happy for Manny and wish him the best at Temple. He needed to get away from Mark Richt aka Al Golden 2.0. Manny's frustration was mounting.

So, why is it a Big Mistake for Manny to call the Whiskey game? Because our current Co-DCs, who have a combined total of 4 years of Collegiate Coaching Experience, have never called a game. They need all the game experience they can get. We are going to lose the Whiskey game with or without Manny. Why not let the Incarnate Word Wizards get it cracking in a game that is as useless as Stank *****?

Richt is setting the Incarnate Word Wizards up for failure by throwing them into the fire against UF. It's foolish. I can hear Richt now: "We love our Co-DCs. They need time to mature. We will give them time."

Thoughts?

i wrote this on another thread. Diaz should be allowed to stand on the sidelines with the boys but thats ALL.

he resigned and is no longer the DC at Miami. he says he owes it to the players to be involved in this game as DC. that is
complete horse**** and Mork is his usual lame *** self for allowing it.

let the new guys get their feet wet in a relatively meaningless game which Miami is not likely to win. i totally agree that
throwing these guys into the UF game the way its going to happen is a bull**** thing to do.

Mullen and the reptiles are licking their chops and laughing their asses off at the same time.

Huge Manolo fan.

Miami allowing him to remain with the program at this point is a fail--for all parties.

This is another example, like we need more, of Richt's poor leadership skill sets. This is also an early mistake by Diaz. You are the HC at Temple now, act like it.

Devil's advocate here. Maybe Manny will be giving them some on the job training and coaching THEM during the game. But I think I should finish all my posts this morning with...

Eh what the fvck am I thinking.

He needs to save the "they are new to this" excuse for next season.

When you decide to leave a job, you no longer maintain leverage to make decisions. This decision is totally Richt’s call and he made the wrong one. Give our new DCs experience and a chance to learn so that they can be prepared when it matters. Don’t give Diaz a D Wade like victory lap while he in on the way out. He moved on from us, not the other way around.

I am quite sure there will be a bit of a hand-off during the game. Besides that, we have the spring for them to figure it out if you are SO sure they cannot call plays.

This attitude is so funny, you have to be old and grey haired to be able to call a play off a play sheet. Let the young guys cut their teeth. Grow up.

I don't blame Manny at all for leaving and doing what was in HIS best interest. But that' wasn't in OUR best interest. Just like him coaching this game is NOT in our best interest

The only person who gains anything from him hanging around is Manny. Now he gets to pull on our players heartstrings hopeful of being carried off on their shoulders if we win..just for HIM to get one last victory lap? Maybe poach some players? Maybe poach some Assistant. GTFOH

What does Miami get out of doing this?

Manny's made his choice and it wasn't to stay here..as soon as he announced he should have packed and kicked rocks. Let one of his Assistants get the experience. Manny's history...lets not prolong his moving on. Let someone else who still wants to be a Cane coach the Canes.

In the real world we would call this giving your two week’s notice.

Send him packing with a good luck pat on the back and get on with it. He is not a difference maker at this point. WI will impose its will because the offense will give it all the chances it needs to do so. Last years defense help more because of turnovers and actually scoring points. This year’s had improved stats but not the ones Mark’s horrible offense needs. Let’s find out Joe Smoe and Joe Blow suck or not.

So with the Manny haters here, the green horns are suddenly going to be experts when they call a bowl game...

.... maybe just hiring an experienced DC would have helped...

Manny is doing it for his players... and that's a good thing..

Banda and co will have to learn on the fly next year.... that's what the bossman hired from within for...

I’m fine with Manny coaching through the bowl game. He built the **** defense and I’m sure wants to finish it out and the kids want to play for him. His leaving is a business decision, after all. The co-coordinators have all spring and summer to figure it out. Lends a bit of continuity to a difficult situation. I’m way more worried about Richt not opening up a search for an experienced DC or not even considering an OC, and the apparent recruiting repercussions than I am about Manny coaching the bowl game. Geez.

Manny has more to lose than gain from coaching this game. The Temple fans are probably happy with the coordinator of the number 2 defense, but if they pay attention to the game and Wisconsin puts up big numbers, that's not a great impression.

Manny so frustrated with Richt that he wanted to practice with da Canes and coach the defense in the bowl game. I swear, some of you people dumber than dirt!

Nut job, he is not doing that for richt. He is doing that for his defensive players.
