Manny and Dan deserve 3 years...

Friendly reminder that we paid Temple $4 Million to get Manny. And we gave him the same contract that Oklahoma gave Lincoln Riley. He isn't going anywhere.

Well, they aren't "facts". They are rankings of high school players. Those rankings have literally no data regarding a kid's work ethic. And, as we are finding out, kids who come from Miami-Dade struggle in that department.

You people have been throwing this "talent" line out there for years, almost as if you don't watch other teams.
You're talking about development, not talent. Funny that those highly ranked recruits seem to pan out for Bama, Ohio State, and Clemson.

Some guys make the jump up in talent level, 5 Star or not, and some 5 Stars find out that their talent doesn't carry them anymore at the college level. Maybe we are getting a lot of guys who don't want to work.

Top 3 Defense under 3yrs with MR. Manny was lead on all recruiting for the Defense.

He LOST 5 NFL quality D players this year....

As for Enos:

He had to craft a brand NEW offense, New QB, new receivers, and new O-line with 2 TRUE FRESHMEN (ie. kids straight out of highschool) within 8 months of being hired by Manny....

How about NICK SABAN'S first year at Alabama?

Wikipedia:

"Alabama closed the season with a victory over Colorado in the Independence Bowl and finished the season with a winning record at 7-6 in Saban's first season.[26][27]"

Most of you idiots talk football from a purely irrational, emotional standpoint-- you got no facts for your rants..... like b*tches on their period....

You can get a better assessment of their coaching once we are at least 10 games into the season.

Calm the f*ck down and watch the season...

We could have replaced 11 players on each side and should still beat Central Michigan by 2 TDs

There are always going to be outliers, exceptions, and busts, but the fact of the matter is there is a correlation between performance and recruiting rankings. It's called blue-chip ratio. Teams who win the title have signed more four- and five-star recruits than two- and three-stars over their previous four signing classes going back to the mid 2000's.

man im sorry i missed this from the beginning but i'll throw my input in anyway. if you are calling for a coach to be fired after the 4th game, you are a ******* idiot. i hope this helps assess your mental capacity. have a nice day

You can judge if the team plays hard and gives great effort for a coach. You can judge whethet a team is disciplined and not costing the team points or field positions. You can judge whether a coach is forcing a scheme on personnel that doesn't fit. You can judge if a coach is over his head or is he able to handle the ups and downs of cfb. There's a lot you can see with the naked eye that tells you iif a coach is worthy of or a waste of time

Nah. Sure, you can see all those things. But those are zero indication of future performance. Nobody knows whether or not Manny will or won't turn out to be a successful head coach here. The first 4 games can't and don't predict that. By the end of year 1 and as we get into year 2, you'll see solid progression and improvement if he and this staff are worth anything. But there are zero conclusions to be drawn after 4 games, neither positively or negatively.

And, U must be a Manuel Diaz apologist and all that. hUh

All they need to do is Beat teams that are less talented. He ain’t able to do that yet.

But yea Diaz needs time before being fired.

Your right. I just checked Locksley called the plays. I stand corrected thanks.

I had to look it up to be sure, too. Makes sense because so far he looks like a guy who hasn’t called plays in a while and is trying to feel his way around.

My buddy is a Bama fan. Swore up and down Enos was the man behind the curtain. Got me out here sharing freezing cold takes. All that talk about Manny turning down OCs for Enos was probably BS.

*you're

I'm not holding out hope for a 9-3 season by playing upper classmen. We have to develop talent at some point.

got it were a development team...

Manny sold everyone this offseason that no rebuild would be necessary and he could win now. This team has too much talent to not win 9 or 10 games

especially a year when everyone aside from UVA is down

Where exactly is this so called talent along the offensive line? He is starting two true freshmen and exactly one starter with more than two yrs exp in college. This line may be dominant in two years but it is a huge weakness right now. Enos can't scheme around it or cover it up. Most of our line is physically and mentally immature. Problems like our offensive line situation simply can not be fixed overnight.

F*ckin A! An intelligent football fan who can see reality as it is!

I'm with you.

Lack of continuity and consistency has been as much a cancer for Miami has hiring the wrong guy.

Five head coaches the past 14 years—yet everyone wants to fire and start over after every rough start.

What pedigree did Jimmy Johnson have when he showed up in 1984? A perennial 7-5 guy at Oklahoma State and never beat Oklahoma or Nebraska in his time there. Went 8-5 out the gate with the defending national champions in 1984—losing his final three in epic-fail fashion; blowing a 31-0 halftime lead to Maryland, losing on a Hail Mary to Boston College and dropping a Fiesta Bowl shootout to UCLA.

Our fan base wanted to run Butch Davis off YEAR SIX after a road loss at Washington—and then spent the next decade sucking him off to come back.

There are going to be ups and downs with this new staff. Deal with it. Canes are something like 99-73 dating back to Coker's last game in Boise at the end of 2006.

All this "we have a higher standard" here stuff is a joke. Miami USED to be something different when the game was different in the 80s and 90s and UM was cutting-edge. All the others have caught up and the sport has become big money, which a private school like Miami can't compete with at that level. Go read that recent ESPN piece about Georgia's $200M facelift just to compete with Alabama. No, UM doesn't have hat-in-hand—but it sure-as-**** isn't state-school affluent when it comes to athletic department budget and never will be.

People need to stop judging this thing one snap at a time and at minimum STFU up until December, when it's time to give a year-end assessment.

I love it, "Fire Manny!"—as if there's a line around the block of guys who are ready to come to Coral Gables (over a major state school) to build this thing with this fickle fan base.

I've loved this program for over four decades—but news flash, in my mid-40s with a wife and kid, in a drunken stupor I could rattle off a dozen other collegiate head coaching jobs I'd take before I'd sign up to be the guy at UM.

This is not a premier job for a head coach or an AD—and the day our fans start accepting that, they'll start judging this through a different lens.
