You really think Riley to USC happened between his loss to Oklahoma State and when the USC announcement was made? No. Conversations were happening behind the scenes for weeks.

You really think the firing of Blake James, the leaks about investing $20-30M more annually into football, all the U-Health profits the past two years ($800M) aren't being put out for a reason—or that Miami hasn't gauged Mario's interest in coming home?

It's Tuesday November 30th and the Pac-12 title game is Friday December 3rd. Relax.
 
Bruce Feldman on with Cowherd today- Cowherd out here straight caping for Lane to Miami. Says what everyone else has been saying- that he’s PERFECT for the job. Says he knows Lane and that Lane would want the job? Sounded like Bruce preferred Mario…says Mario IS Miami, through and through…

Come on, Miami. Don’t do this to us. We deserve great coaching after what we’ve been through😳

So because sheepherders say we should round up other sheep means we should? Colin cowherd,and Wiley are clowns who don't know **** and Shannon as much as he knows has sold his soul for the sake of viewers... Lane is simply an entertainer and would make Miami entertaining. Sure our offense would be serious as it would with ANY COMPETENT OC. What other value does he bring as a coach? He's a basic recruiter,his values are lacking, isn't really anything more than an oc himself. His mindset is Sunday brunch... It's something that honestly shouldn't even need to be discussed when it relates to this journeyman coach. I wouldn't mind if lane came here but he's not someone we've been considering at this point.

I know people worry about Lane’s defenses (Old Miss seems to be doing ok in that department, but whateves 🤷🏾‍♂️) But scoring points/out scoring your opponents is how you win the game? Could you imagine south Florida athletes with NOTHING to worry about EXCEPT pinning their ears back and going after the QB??? 😳 Because that is the EXACT situation our boys would be in MOST of the time because teams HAVE TO ABANDON THE RUN because they are likely down 21 points before they can blink. THATS WHAT KIFFIN BRINGS….

Kiffin is a flat-out idiot who's been an absolute dumpster fire at most of his head coaching stops. You think that he's comparable to Carroll, Switzer and JJ? I'd be curious to know why. By what metric(s) is Kiffin even close Carroll/Switzer/JJ? Because he "wants to win championships in college and NFL?" Well, that describes 99% of the head coaches/coordinators/position coaches/GA's/analysts/water boys out there.

Let's review Kiffin's past as a HC:

Oakland Raiders 5-15. Owner Al Davis publicly accused him of being "a flat-out liar" and "bringing disgrace to the organization" and tried to force him to resign after only 1 season. Kiffin didn't want to give up the remainder of the guaranteed money on his contract so he refused. Kiffin was fired mid-season in the second year of his contract "for cause." Kiffin filed a grievance but an arbitrator ruled in favor of the Raiders.

Tennessee Volunteers 7-6. Quit after one season to accept USC position. Was famous for (falsely) calling out Urban Meyer for "cheating" while violating an SEC statute in the process and was later reprimanded. Eventually admitted he was wrong about Meyer and issued an apology.

USC Trojans 29-20. Fired midseason on the tarmac after giving up 62 to Arizona State. 2012 season was preseason #1 and finished the season unranked. Got caught lying when he said he didn't vote his Trojans #1 but USA Today came out and said that he did.

FAU 21-7. He did a good job against inferior coaching/competition.

Ole MIss 19-15. Had a very good 2021 season but his overall record is very average.

I only watched one Ole Miss game this year, the Auburn game, and I can say that Kiffin's boneheaded decisions greatly contributed to the loss. Like going for it on 4th and 7 from Auburn's 13 yard line instead of kicking a FG down 8 in Q3. And constantly throwing long, low percentage passes on 3rd/4th and short. Let him go to OU I'll take Mario or any man of integrity of over a lying weasel like Lane Kiffin.

Riley saw the Sooners’ move to the $EC as a roadblock to future CFP and NC opportunities. He will be successful at USC, although maybe not Carroll level. Or maybe he will. I’ve no doubt he’ll end up an NFL HC soon enough, especially if he wins a NC at USC.

Kiffin may be brash, but he is not in the same league as football HC as Jimmy Johnson.

Mario is who we need right now. We have real structural issues at UM, beginning with the culture. We aren't tough, we haven't cared enough, we haven't hustled hard enough, and we haven't had true grit. There's been a leadership void beginning at the Presidential level for nearly 2 decades, at the AD level for the same period of time, and at the head coaching level. Having a proper AD and head coach aligned in their vision will do miracles for this program in the long run. Organizationally, it's the best move for UM right now.

Lane's the coach you bring in when you have the infrastructure. He's the guy LSU should have brought in.

he's more interested in coming here for the fishing. Mario will be at high schools at 6am working on recruits.
 
Y’all boys are either on dope or dog food? Kiffin is going to straight KILL IT here….and we deserve to FINALLY have a top notch, highly skilled X’s and O’s” coach to marry with all this talent. We’ve always had the talent, but never a comparable coaching staff to properly coach it up. Kidding is the smart choice here…THEN bring in Mario, after he’s fulfilled his commitment to the Ducks…
