Malzahn might not make mid-season at this point.
Auburn dont care. They will fire his *** and go get Urb. Money and buyouts are no issue to them.
Urb isn't coming to Auburn, he wants NO part of Saban. There's a reason why he bailed on UF, and it was because he saw that Saban was able to stack talent and give Meyer fits. Meyer is a better tactical coach, but Saban is a better program manager.
Urban is 2-2 vs Saban. He bailed on UF because he had no one to replace Teabag. He ‘retired due to health reasons’ after making a behind-the-scenes deal with Ohio State.
Ironically, Cam Newton was Teabag’s backup in 2007 and took a medical redshirt in 2008. In November 2008 Cam was arrested and dismissed from UF (which is its own oddity, given UF’s look-the-other-way policy). There was some academic fraud as well.
Imagine if Newton had stayed at UF and succeeded Teabags. I think Meyer would have stayed and kept winning. At least until Newton left for the NFL.
This thread didn’t age too well
You think you slick you Roman Empirical..you thought Auburn was about to get thrashed early onMake no mistake.
This win over Oregon did not turn the temp down on Malzahn's bubbling pot. He had better make some SEC Champ noise this season.

Even tho you jumped the gun..your still probably right
It was a good game for sure. Oregon surprised me with how they matched up physically tho and should of won by at least 10. Idk what to think of Auburn tho. That front 7 is playoff levelOh no...I thought it was a fairly even matchup. Not surprised if either team jumped out to a lead (first game for both).
Let's be clear--win, lose, or draw--falling behind like that to a PAC-12 team on the Plains is reason alone to fire him (in Tiger's minds). It was almost as bad as Tenn loss.
My point is Malzahn is under heavy pressure "to do something" at Auburn.
Already War Eagle! faithful aren't talking about the comeback victory, but rather duck a le orange' and their collapse.
Auburn just wants one last excuse to dump Gus.
He had no one to replace Tebow, and the talent started dropping off. Go look at the offensive rosters Muschamp inherited. It wasn't anywhere near what Meyer had earlier in his tenure. He wasn't recruiting offensively worth a ****. While he would have been able to get something out of those guys, it wasn't nearly enough to consistently compete with Alabama, and what Saban was building. I also think that Meyer realized that Saban had way more resources at his disposal, and for the first time in decades Bama had someone that knew how to leverage their primary advantage. It's a lot easier to be the top dog at Ohio State, than it is to be in a conference where you have Alabama, Georgia and others directly challenging you. All Meyer had to worry about at Ohio State was beating Michigan, and possibly Penn State. Lot easier on the health if you ask me.
If Meyer is coming back, he's going to USC. It's a place wherein theory, he can stack talent with little interference, and the conference itself is pretty weak. It would be a disaster for Oregon, because once SC gets back on track, Oregon is doomed to mediocrity.
