Mallory Recognized as Mackey Award Candidate

University of Miami junior Will Mallory was selected to the preseason watch list for the John Mackey Award honoring the nation’s top tight end, it was announced Friday.

Really hope Will gets plenty of opportunities this year.

He needs to stay healthy, both him and Brevin had issues staying on the field. He took a nice step forward last year but his blocking is still worrisome. I hope Arroyo is full go because he’s gonna be a stud

If he’s not at least a semi-finalist by year end his season was a failure. I think Brevin was a semi-finalist twice and a finalist once.

Due to his size and speed, Mallory might be the best Canes NFL prospect at TE since Njoku and Herndon left. Although Mallory’s blocking is admittedly suspect, so was Njoku‘s blocking. Mallory should put up some massive numbers in Lashlee’s offense as long as he stays healthy

TE is one of the few positions where you only need one great year and you are shaking hands with the commissioner by April.

Who would have guessed that Mallory and King would be so bad. Mallory is more disappointing then king but both need to move to second string at this point
