I said nothing bad about the kid. would love to have him. not buying into a reliable poster who is sharing something he heard in private.
and I got banned from the free board on canestime b/c I repeatedly got into w/ dbc on all these no name kids who he claimed had offers and were coming that weren't even being recruited by UM. but, I guess that makes me the ******.

It appears the Malik McDowell Saga could be nearing its end.

The five-star defensive end out of Detroit, who committed to Michigan State but has not sent in his letter of intent, told 247Sports.com that he won't be taking any unofficial visits to other schools.

"I'm not going on any [visits]," said McDowell.

Which is good news for Michigan State fans hoping McDowell is in East Lansing next season.

McDowell committed to Michigan State, but his parents weren't happy with is decision, preferring that their son leave the state to go to college. As a result, McDowell has not sent in his letter of intent because he still needs his mother to sign it. Something that could happen soon, as McDowell says that she is "coming around."

"It's a big relief," McDowell said. "Most likely I'm going to be able to go where I want."

It would also be a relief for Michigan State fans, who have spent the last few weeks eagerly anticipating a resolution to McDowell's situation. Something the Eye on College Football covered in our latest installment of Breaking Down the Buzz.

I hope the kids mother signs the **** LOI and let's her son be a man and go to the school he wants to attend.

Just love this thread...so much disrespect for parents. That's what's wrong with a lot of these athletes, and why a disproportionate number get into trouble and ***** up their lives. And when they do make it to the league, it's not over. A very high percentage file for bankruptcy within a few years after leaving.

Of course, the people who inhabit this board have this insane hatred of the more mature that parents sometimes bring.

So you have Alex Collins dissing his mom, and has a good first year on the field at Arkansas, but appears to be running into some other problems at that school. Wonder how long he will last. And what's with all these kids being raised by their moms and their fathers are somewhere else? Oh, I shouldn't ask that question...it's not politically correct.
