Wow! I think it's excellent parenting. If we had more parents like her, we would have kids who are more responsible, not having children while unmarried at the age of 16, and respectful of rules and norms of good behavior.

A reliable poster shared something they were told in private that UM was making a run at McDowell to try and get an unofficial visit. I am not one to throw stuff out against the wall in hopes it sticks and neither is the person who shared it so take it for what you will.

But again as I said the family is most likely tired of the whole process, which is why they were intially focusing on the Top 4 schools, but Miami offers a very interesting and amicable compromise for all parties involved so I could see why the McDowell's may be receptive to UM's private overture.

Also keep in mind UM didn't offer previously so a new relationship is being cultivated in a hurry, with an already fatigued and rightfully so defensive partner in Joya Crowe ( Malik Mcdowell's mom).

I said nothing bad about the kid. would love to have him. not buying into a reliable poster who is sharing something he heard in private.
and I got banned from the free board on canestime b/c I repeatedly got into w/ dbc on all these no name kids who he claimed had offers and were coming that weren't even being recruited by UM. but, I guess that makes me the ******.
