Malik Bryant had the best game of his young career, with 4 tackles, 1.5 TFL, half a sack and a keys top on a fake FG. He met with reporters to discuss the game:

On the stop on the fake FG: I just saw opportunity, and I knew the team needed the stop, so I got back there. It was a team effort, though, always. I was glad I was in the position to make the play.

On the momentum shift: I feel like we all lean on each other to get the job done. So that's what we did tonight.

On the final replay: Emotions were definitely high because we put a lot into it. But we always want the outcome that we wish for, and that's what we got. We know we put in the work all summer, all spring. It showed tonight. I don't really try to worry about [them making the call]. I try to control what I can control and push through with the game.

On playing from behind: At halftime, we knew what we needed to get done. We came back and played with our hair on fire in the second half.

On Kyron Drones: He's definitely a tough opponent. He's got a brighter future ahead of him. He was a great athlete..

On the impact he made: I felt like my coaches, Coach Guidry, Coach Taylor, Coach D-Nick, and all the defensive staff and coaches in general prepared me for that moment. Everybody looks at this moment tonight, but there was a lot more put into that, and I feel like they prepared me more than well.

Good young player.
I hope he keeps developing.

The effort have gave on the fake fg tells you what kind of teammate he is. A lot of guys take those plays off especially when you’re in a safe call. He explodes off the ball and runs into a TFL. huge play.

He’s coming on strong but the only thing on fire was VT’s offense.

He just earned a spot in the rotation! Welcome to the party be fella!
What's weird about this staff, Bryant was talked up during fall practices, then poof his disappears. Some of the personnel issues, you question. The Kid number 23 on the punt team is a blurred getting down the field, why don't you throw him, Mack, or Stafford out there to see what they got.

They played the first 3 games. To be fair, I think down 10 vs VT, they wanted to trust the starters. But I agree, need more snaps going forward, if anything, so the starters can be fresh.

Also, you have a solid corner in Rodgers, you lose your nickel, so you kick Rodgers inside, now you weaken 2 positions. Wish Richards would step up.

Yea there is no real reason he could not get some real burn in the earlier games. Now with Bain coming back … he will be POOF again.
