malachi toney paying dividends

Ahmmon Richards?
Ahmmon was a similarly impactful receiver, but Malachi also throws and runs the ball. Miami has literally NEVER had a player like Malachi Toney. I’m not saying better than all freshmen before him, but I am willing to say that he is different from any other player since I started wanting UM football in 1982.

Toney is awesome.

Dont want him it to be the case very often though where he has 15 targets while our next WR has 6 and 2 though. And Dawson got WAAAY too predictable with all the jet sweeps.

I’m hoping he’s got a wrinkle up his sleeve for Pitt off those jet sweeps. Seems like a set up but could be wishful thinking.

That would mean that Dawson would be very creative and planning ahead and Caveman all in on it and very smart.
NOT !!!!!!

The crazy thing was that he was a three star player in the composite. I wonder how they would rate him now?

Every single week his gadget package expands and he gets more touches in different ways.

So that kind of goes against what you’re spewing here.
So running 8-10 jet sweeps to Toney is a gadget?
I’m actually looking for creativity and game adjustments.

it was and is absurd. I would love for someone to ask a rating service why they had him as a 3 star.
They'd probably just say something along the lines about his measurables. 5'10 180 isn't really what the recruiting world sees as a 5 star.

Toney can be the greatest decoy in history, and to keep him from wearing down, we need to use him as such.

This is an absolutely wild statement, and I agree with it.

He's mixed in several wrinkles with the jet sweep motion if you actually paid attention. It's ok to criticize Dawson for earlier in the season, but he has clearly evolved here in the second half of the year and made this offense much tougher to defend with Malachi.
