Make Practice Difficult Again

I’m so sick & tired of the closed check books. We should’ve been throwing out $400k for a S&C coach. To get a real one. God knows we’ve lost more $ being cheap then just spending good $ in the first place. Even though I’m OK w Baker, should’ve hit up Corey Raymond and be like yo, come get this $750k in a state tax free area, bruh, and run this def.
Should’ve hit up the OC from OU and be like come get this $600k to call these joints. But first, should’ve hit up Urb and be like yo, I got this $7.4m waiting for u homie! Lol.
Oklahoma goes and grabs Al Grinch from Ohio Taint to be DC; we grab a dude from La Tech.

Different time and culture then kids growing then walked or road bikes to go where they were going.plus kids worked odd jobs back then like hauling hay ,sacking groceries, mowing lawns etc.spent more time outdoors.today kids spend most of their time playing videos or on electronic dev making them softer now.

do what you want but I'm going to wait and see how the team looks in a game before I start bashing the coaches that were just hired.before you praise Oklahoma's hire Venerables was ous dc 4 yrs ago.

I don’t think is social media itself...but it reflects the culture of today. Call me what you want or neg me to death, these kids today are pussys. I’m 37 and I’m a ***** compared to my dad and that generation and his dad before that. But I’ll be damned if I’m caught in this bull**** of today.

Instant gratification is expected. No one wants to work hard and earn or take anything. They feel they DESERVER it. And then they run to social media to spill every ounce of feelings about it.

Very few wanna roll up their sleeves anymore and get to work. It is their right these days...and giving them a way to release all this to everyone only makes it worse.

Of course this is my opinion and like I said, have at me...

Does your wife and kids know your a *****? *****Mods he called himself that not me.********

How does social media take away from focusing on their craft?

Every person only has so much energy. Anything you think about, especially with feelings attached, cost you something. That’s why those in power bombard us with images and information constantly, because we input our own controls.

That’s why we say things like ‘the company you keep’ or ‘pay attention’ or ‘spend time’ - these are all financial terms for corporate transactions. Social media directly influences your mind, your emotions and thus your actions. They don’t call it programming and applications for nothing. All that attention is work and expectation and pressure.

Every moment spent in a virtual world takes away from awareness in the real world.
The majority of these kids didn’t/don’t even know what their value is
- social media defined the bag, sacrificing their soul for pennies on the dollar.

Coaches pay for players just like players pay for hoes; cash for service, no strings then on to the next.
They’re gambling on themselves but the house always wins.
I’d rather have a player that dgaf about what everybody on social media thinks.

Moffit was savage............this new guy omg how bad of a hire. No resume no ties nothing
With all due respect, in reality none of us know if the hire will be good or bad. If your point is that Feely isn't a splash big name hire then yes I completely agree.

Personally I think Diaz wants to get this right because the guy wants to win badly. I don't think that Manny fired Felder just to bring in the first douchebag that jumped at our offer. Diaz knows how important S&C is. He has coached in the SEC, the Big 12 and now the ACC so he has seen a lot.

I'm going to give El Jefe the benefit of the doubt here while I await the results of Mr. McFeely's work. We should have a good idea of what we have in the new guy by the time the season begins.

Change the culture, make practice hard, can’t recruit?

You all do realize that we were a avg OC and a avg QB away from winning 10 games last year right? Maybe even undefeated. Just imagine what a good OC and QB woulda done.

The sky is not falling!

How can u make it difficult when your team isnt difficult.....................SMH im crying laughing at this

Yea guys lets go 100% in [ractice on defense so Malik doesnt rack up 300 yards and 3 tds

REAL TOUGH TO DEFEND AGAINST what a hard practice
Just curious, had anyone played any type of close to professional football.

OMG, again with this? Randy Shannon has eliminated the Camp Coker mentality!! Al Golden has us play for FIVE quarters! Mark Richt implementing SEC level practices! So I guess NOW is the time to start practicing??

Social media is making it hard for these kids to really focus on their craft. Then come game time they talk smack but aren’t ready to walk the walk.
Agreed Manny needs to bad that crap during the season. I believe Clemson coach did the same.

Different subject but this board would lose its mind if we hired Grinch once it started to dig into his resume. I'm still not sure why OU tabbed that guy to turn around its defense.

He started the defensive turnaround at Washington State. That defense was one of the worst in football, and he made them tough and at least competitive in a short period. That was Monkey Boy Schiano’s D at Ohio Taint.

I like Grinch, but it’s going to be interesting to see if he can turn that OU defense into something respectable. It’s virtually impossible to shut people down completely in that conference.

There’s some truth in this, I mean I’m 46 and I can’t relate to millennial MFs.
I’m glad MR stepped aside and Manny is bringing some young energy in that can relate.
These cats out here now are nothing like the athletes from back in the day.
Everybody wants to be fkn corporation with branding and followers but the product ain’t ****.
Millennials are in the NFL not college and high school and they seem to be doing just fine with honing their craft.
Learn your generations. The oldest millennial is a few years younger than you lol

Apparently the practices aren’t very difficult for bowl games either and this has been occurring for over a decade. I said this on another thread 1 bowl win since the 2006 season is beyond mind boggling especially considering our opponents were quite marginal. Also the games for the most haven’t really been close or competitive. Going 0-3 vs. Wisky during that is beyond embarrassing and unacceptable. We used to trash those midwestern teams with their lack of talent and speed.

I’m trying to find team bowl records since say 2000-present. Canes probably have set the new bar for total ineptness and incompetence in the power 5 during that time. I also believe we only missed 1 bowl game during that time when we self-imposed for the Nevin fiasco. We would have lost that year’s bowl game as well and Folden knew it.

How do recruits and boosters with bags even take this program seriously after watching these **** shows year after year at the end of the season? The 1 year we did win the bowl game it was our best recruiting in ages note the correlation here?

Lol. Bro; It’s funny, they said LSU became good after Moffitt became their S&C after leaving us. Said Saban made sure to bring his protege w him to Bama after he got back to CFB.

Yet, here it is, we got folks on this site saying S&C ain’t that big of a deal. S&C is half the battle! Lol! I get so angry at the bull chit excuses we receive from fans. ****, don’t be a blind homer.

On the contrary, I'd argue that S&C is about 75%. The rest is direction, organization and efficiency from a HC perspective. If Saban had a mediocre S&C coach, Bama's not on the run that they're on now.
